Warm welcome, outstanding eclectic decor and meticulously organised treasures and all pristinely clean. They were currently in a handover to become the owners and hearing their plans and vision for the place, once they're in full swing it sounds like it'll be a must-stop place on the way to Swan Hill and Lake Tyrrell.

I arrived pretty late 10pm and I was supposed to check in by 1800 hour, with a simple phone call all I need and also an easy check out. Thank you Don. Loved the log fire. Totally didn’t see it on the booking. It was so nice when some wintery weather came through.
They also turned on the heater for our arrival which was lovely.
Having breakfast with a view of the forest, birds and kangaroos was lovely. Was lucky enough to see a young one that had the case of the zoomies.
Super easy key collection. No needing to go to an office. Got a text about the key and the code. Was super helpful.
The location is awesome.

Gday was the best caravan park I have ever lived in, the staff was very friendly and welcoming, meanwhile, arranged a renovated brand new cabin for me, the facilities were fantastic clean and new with a reasonable price

It was amazingly beautiful there. Kangaroos in the garden, view over the mountains, loads of birds, nice and quiet. A fireplace in the house for in the evening. We had a great time!

Halls Gap is a lovely little town that's nestled in amongst...
Halls Gap is a lovely little town that's nestled in amongst the Grampians National Park. We ate at two difference eateries for dinner while we were there for the weekend. Those being the Kookaburra Hotel and Flame Brothers Cafe. Both were excellent and very popular so I highly recommend making a reservation to ensure you get a seat. While you're in Halls Gap one must do activity is to go to Boroka Lookout. The views from there are breathtaking and it only takes approximately 20 mins to get there by car with a very short and easy stroll from the carpark to the actual lookout. Overall we really enjoyed our stay!

Location was great of this accommodation. The local Vic hotel very average meals. The quaintness and quietness was lovely. Not a place I'd stay longer than a couple of days. Do not stop at the bakery in Ararat.. really bad.. we threw our food... Go to a supermarket or have a BBQ.

Appreciated the historical buildings, lovely gardens and friendly residents.
Loved the Gum San Chinese Heritage Museum - interesting historical information and well-laid out collections that gave us valuable insight into the origins of Ararat. We deliberately stayed in Ararat to visit Gum San. The staff on duty, Mary and Duan, were knowledgeable and helpful.
Enjoyed our stay at Acacia Caravan Park - loved the joyful Christmas display in the front office garden. Cabin was clean, comfortable and had a well-appointed kitchen-just right for 5 people.

We loved the historical interest. Beautiful clean township. Excellent parks quiet & friendly atmosphere. Great playground areas and picnic areas. And a good assortment of shopping facilities. A variety of interests are catered for.
We really enjoyed the great Bakery there.

A few pubs at Nhill, however the recommended place was shut for Sunday dinner unfortunately. Owner was helpful however and suggested a couple of alternatives (the only alternatives in Nhill!!!)
Not much there but a friendly town halfway between Adelaide and Melbourne.
Think there was a bakery but that was closed. The IGA was open thank goodness.

Sea Lake is a small town with a wonderful pub (Excellent meal at The Royal) and a beautiful mural on the silos. The light show on the mural was below what was expected but that was our high expectation. The set up at Lake Tyrell is excellent though the corrugated road to the lake side facility was annoying. (surprised council does not maintain it since it is a prime tourist destination for the town). The sun rise and sunset views at Lake Tyrell were fabulous, but the dark sky experience is overrated due to bright light coming from the salt works across the lake and a glow coming from a town? to the east. Overall, worth a stopover.

The takeaway in Dimboola was closed (for 3 weeks) coinciding with my stay (5 days). This limited eating options to just 1 pub, the Victoria Hotel. This a good venue.
Spent my whole stay cycling. Didn't attempt any other sight seeing.

It is a fascinating town, old goldfields, amazing 19thC architecture, good caravan park. For us it's been a transit overnight being halfway between Adelaide Hills Home and Falls Creek, with numerous trips to family winter and summer last 12 or so years. Worth a longer stay but ...circumstances... A shout-out to the Farmers Arms Hotel for good pub food on a Sunday evening!!
