CanadaCannot fault our stay at Gorge View Bush Retreat! Carney was the most friendly and welcoming host; nothing was too much trouble. We stayed in one of the glamping tents with our 2 kids (1yr and 3yr) and everyone was really comfortable! The camp kitchen had everything we needed for cooking up a great BBQ and the pool was gorgeous for an early morning swim and cooling off after a day at Edith Falls. Best part, though, was the sunset deck...simply stunning views! If you want a great camping experience with a few home comforts, this is the place. We will definitely be back next time we are back in Katherine!

Nice touch with jug of cold water in fridge. Good air con. Plenty of electricity sockets. Well located 5 minute walk to Woolworths and petrol. Limited menu in restaurant but huge portions of food. The potato wedges were absolutely fantastic (could have fed four with one bowl!). There were lovely tropical plants lining the site making it feel green and welcoming. We stayed in Katherine for one night at Gorge View, had a meal of crocodile and Barramundi at the Katherine Club on O'shea Terrace, next morning went to the Katherine Outback Experience which we thoroughly enjoyed and had lunch at the New Shanghai restaurant. We booked a queen room only the day before.
We booked a queen room only the day before. Check in was at 3pm. We were booked into yellow boats for sunset cruise at 4.30pm which was a 40 minute drive. Requested to get room at 2pm , our queen room was not ready but they offered us 2 doubles. Which we gladly took. Beds awesome. Had a swim in there awesome pool. I had read you must book for the restaurant and this is true. We didn't get back from cruise until 7.45pm as roadworks and husband was pulled over by police random breath test. Thankfully we had booked restaurant as we seen people arriving after 8pm and being turned away. No other food out there really to randomly get. Wish we booked 2 nights one is not enough. It was a room (upstairs) with a bed and a fridge but not much else. The shower's taps were a feet level with nothing to hold on to when stepping in. The plastic plant on the bedside table just took up space. The restaurant was very different - it was welcoming, clean and the food was very nice. Go to Yellow Water Billalong, Ubirr and Nourlangie and definitely visit the waterfalls while you are here. If you don't have a 4WD, book an all day tour and they can take you. We are dinner at the Mercure restaurant. We had breakfast in Jabiru township.Guest review byMichelle CassieAustralia
