Staff were amazing and friendly. I had a little medical episode while staying there. I was taken to hospital buy ambulance, and they looked after my partner very well and came and saw me the next day to see if I was alright. Highly recommend this hotel and will be backGuest review byCraigNew Zealand
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 8.8Fabulous - What previous guests thought, 154 reviewsI had a wonderful stay at Shoal Bay Holiday Park! The tent was clean and well-maintained, making for a comfortable experience. Being close to nature, I stepped out of the tent at night and was greeted by a sky full of stars. Plus, having the convenience of parking my car right next to the tent was a great bonus. Highly recommended for a relaxing getaway.Guest review byman sze kerryHong Kong
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 9.1Superb - What previous guests thought, 289 reviewsIt was the quiet season and rainy but we sat on the front veranda outside our glamping tent and watched the ocean, koalas, a possum ran right in front of our feet. It was the most magical day, completely with nature (which is a big say for me as I live in a van normally so am normally in nature). Toilet and shower block was average but clean.Guest review byAmyUnited Kingdom
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 8.8Fabulous - What previous guests thought, 258 reviewsWe were on a road trip to the snow and sadly arrived late both times to appreciate our surroundings. We appreciate the phone calls months ago as we had booked two nights one week apart that would have looked like a booking mistake on our behalf so thank you all for making sure we had booked both dates.Guest review byMarry ApplePhilippines
- From US$129.91 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.2Very good - What previous guests thought, 1,296 reviewsLocation couldn't have been better, a stone's throw away from the harbour with all restaurants along the coast. Right in the heart of the central street with Woolworths being a 2 minute walk away. We didn't eat at the connecting restaurant but it looked amazing. Perfect for Koala sanctuary too !Guest review byJessicaUnited Kingdom
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 8.8Fabulous - What previous guests thought, 18 reviewsWe really liked the accommodation. It was very comfortable and the location right by the sea was excellent. There are great hiking trails nearby and the centre of Prost Stevens/Nelson Bay is not far away. If we didn't live so far away, we would love to come back often.Guest review byMichaelGermany

Nelson Bay is just great.
Nelson Bay is just great. I dont live too far, in Newcastle, but we always had family trips to the bay for Christmas. And I want my son to have the same experiences I did when I was younger. It is just far away that it really does feel like we are on holidays somewhere alot further away. The shops, the cafes, the resturants, bars, everything is at your door step. Summer time is amazing, the bay has the most beautiful colours, everyone enjoying the sun. It is definitely 10/10Guest review byKristyAustralia - 10.0

We liked our villa, very comfortable, the camp kitchen was the best we have seen. The grounds and amenities were great, reception staff very friendly. We did not find anything to complain about. We had some great meals close to the holiday park. Easy walking to the shops in the Main Street .Guest review byAnonymous - 10.0

The owners have a wonderful guide book of everything you can do in and around Salamander Bay. Use their suggestions - Its detailed and a great way to finding the best food, best walks, bakeries, coffee shops, best play areas for children and things to do in wet weather. They haven't missed a beat in this guide book! We had a wet week so went ten pin bowling, movies, Soldiers point Bowling Club which has a fantastic play area for kids. Two Bobs bakery in Nelson Bay is fab and Atmos for lunch in Shoal Bay is the best for a sunny day eating great Greek food and watching the Bay glisten in the sun - perfect for long lunches!Guest review byTREACYAustralia - 8.0

I liked that we had the beach so handy, even though it was winter, and hubby played putt putt, and we enjoyed a hit of tennis. We were warm and cosy in our cabin, but I would like to visit in Spring or Autumn when its a little warmer to have BBQ's and sit outside at the Cafe. Overall a nice spot to stay, and handy to other activities, amenities and sightseeing.Guest review byKrisAustralia - 4.0

Great shower, and that is where it stops, massive gap under the door let's cold in and dust only a small hand broom to go over the floor it was so gritty to walk on blinds don't fit properly so cannot keep the light out plus when it's windy they swing so light dark light dark and only 1 thin blanket to keep warm noisy heating overall would not stay againGuest review byAnneAustralia - 4.0
The property does not deserve a 8.1 rating.
The property does not deserve a 8.1 rating. Could not use the shower or the air conditioner due to there below poor condition, including foul smell. Beds were terrible. Motel was cramped with terrible parking. It was a very unpleasant stay, we couldn’t wait to leave.Guest review byJodieAustralia - 8.0

Loved the location of Bannisters which is right across the road from the Bowling Club and down below Bannisters is the sailing club where you can get a coffee overlooking the water. There are quite a few restaurants nearby and Holberts Prawn and Oysters are a few minutes drive away.Guest review byCharlesAustralia - 10.0
So much to see and do.
So much to see and do. The people of Fingal Bay and surrounds take great pride in their towns, everything is so clean and well maintained. The views are amazing, lots of places to enjoy good food or a cocktail. Do yourself a favor and head to Fingal Bay and surrounds! Must do is a trip out to Tea Gardens on the Original Tea Gardens Ferry. Kerry the captain is full of information and daily the dolphins swim on the side of the ferry on the trip across the beautiful waters. Another must do is a trip to Anna Bay Sand Dunes and ride the camels, have breakfast or lunch at The Crest Cafe at Birubi Beach while you're there.Guest review byJacquiAustralia - 10.0

We love taking our dog on holiday with us - so Anna Bay has a big dog friendly beach which also has shallow end. The "locals" were all really friendly, relaxed and gave helpful suggestions. Good pub , pizza place, fish n chips n hamburger joint. Ideal for really relaxed casual holidayGuest review byDeniseAustralia - 10.0

Karuah was a great place to get to and experience what it has to offer. Access was easy for everything. The RSL offered a good array of meals and the price was reasonable. I note that there was also a Pizzeria in Karuah - maybe we will try that next time.Guest review byGayleAustralia
