- From US$386.89 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.3Superb - What previous guests thought, 212 reviewsOnly a few minutes out of Montville, but you feel like you are far, far away from the rest of the world. It's beautiful and so peaceful, and I felt like I could stay there forever. The view of the mini- lake, complete with lily pads and frogs, from the bedroom and living room was wonderful. Absolutely recommend 100% if you are looking for an escape. I think it's particularly suited to romantic escapes! The owner/ managers take excellent care of you without being even slightly intrusive. Hot, fresh baked croissants hung quietly and unobtrusively on your door every morning for breakfast! So many thoughtful little touches in the cottage, including a freshly laid fire ready to light! And you don't even notice other guests! I particularly loved how many birds were on the property, whipbirds, kookaburras, currawongs, butcher birds, frogmouths (I saw 4!) Yellow tailed black cockatoos, sulfer crested cockatoos, pale headed rosella, ibis, doves, ducks to name a few... It's perfectly located to explore the sunshine coast hinterland, but if you were so inclined you could never leave the property for your whole stay! Just a note for anyone trying to work on holiday, there's no wifi and certain mobile sim cards will drop in and out of service, just as they do in the whole hinterland area. I'm not putting this in the category of things I disliked because it was not important to me.Guest review byMaryamUnited Arab Emirates
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 9.7Exceptional - What previous guests thought, 93 reviewsOur stay at Narrows Escape was pure perfection! The service was beyond exceptional—we were treated to complimentary champagne, chocolates, roses, cheese, and freshly baked croissants every morning. They even offered personal drives into town and on excursions, making our stay effortless, luxurious and well worth it. Every detail was thoughtfully taken care of, and the hospitality was truly five-star. Montville is also a really cute little town with good restaurants and services, would come back!Guest review byMattFrance
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 9.1Superb - What previous guests thought, 564 reviewsMaleny Tropical Retreat is a gem. The place has been curated with authentic Balinese furniture and decor, creating a unique, calming environment. The place is well laid out, clean and very comfortable. The star of the show is the amazing view from the patio, overlooking the mountains and Baroon lake. The host and owner, Ken, was kind and made us feel very welcome. The continental breakfast supplied was great. We will definitely return.Guest review byBrianaCanada
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 9.5Exceptional - What previous guests thought, 143 reviewsEverything was amazing! The location is great and close to Maleny and Montville for little trips as well as finding waterfalls. The cottage was spectacular and the views from the daybed were magical, especially when I fractured my ankle on a walk and had to spend the next day relaxing out on the balcony. Daily breakfast delivered to the room was delicious and the service and care from Emily was beyond expectations.Guest review byDenikaAustralia
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 9.6Exceptional - What previous guests thought, 240 reviewsAlan was the perfect host and went above and beyond to welcome and familiarise us. He even offered to drive us to local restaurants so we could relax and have a couple of glasses of wine. Breakfast comprised beautiful fresh produce with freshly baked croissants delivered in the morning too. Spotlessly clean and lovely. I highly recommend The Falls Montville.Guest review bySusanUnited Kingdom

Montville is a gorgeous town in the Sunshine Coast hinterland .. I just love it and keep coming back. So close to everything - including beaches, shopping centres - yet far enough away to escape from the world! Cool winters, open fireplaces and autumn leaves make the place even more special.Guest review byJoanneAustralia - 10.0
Maleny is a quaint, beautiful and magical place.
Maleny is a quaint, beautiful and magical place. We loved the trail from the property into town, loved to walk around the little boutique shops and also great that all amenities can be bought there. The pharmacy isn't open on Sunday's so take note. We recommend booking restaurants ahead of time.Guest review byKelly FenningAustralia - 8.0

Nambour is an old established town but it provides easy and quick access to the Sunshine Coast( around 20 mins to the Sunshine Coast airport) where accommodation could be considerably more expensive. My stay in the Nambour Heights Motel was directly opposite the Nambour Hospital and relatively close to other places in the area. It was 11 minutes from the Buderim Ginger Factory and very close to the Big Pineapple. Also close to the Bli Bli water ski park which appeared to be a huge complex.Guest review byMichaelAustralia - 10.0

The main attraction in Beerwah is Australia Zoo but we actually skipped the zoo this time and opted out for a quieter and more peaceful trip. There are so many beautiful landscapes and walks to enjoy in the area and it's only a short drive to Maleny or Montville as well. If you are seeking a relaxing experience, I'd definitely recommend visiting those two little towns. We enjoyed the Thai Restaurant in Maleny and strolls through the streets of Montville followed by a hearty lunch at The Edge Restaurant. We also visited the Botanic Gardens & Bird Sanctuary in Maleny which was AMAZING!Guest review byLisaGermany - 10.0
My favourite Italian restaurant was open.
My favourite Italian restaurant was open. So a hot pizza on a cold night made all the difference to our stay. The local store has a great variety of foods for snacks or dinner and then it's nice just to walk around and explore the town.Guest review byGrahamAustralia - 10.0

Mapleton is a small country town on the top of a ridgeline with that side having views over Mount Coolum and Marcoola to the ocean in the distance. There are numerous hikes/walks in the area including access to the Sunshine Coast Great Walk. If you visit I would highly recommend having a lunch at the Mapleton Hotel, it was an absolute surprise, the food and service was sensational. The more touristy town of Montville is a short drive away. The town also has several coffee shops, an IGA and service station.Guest review byGlenAustralia - 8.0
Palmwoods is a cute little town in the Sunshine Coast...
Palmwoods is a cute little town in the Sunshine Coast Hinterland. It is a short scenic drive to Montville and Maleny, and an easy drive to Maroochydore and other coastal spots. Local eating places of note are Piggyback (Asian fusion - delicious!), Ric's Garage (burgers and shakes, American diner style - fun!), The Shed (coffee, cakes, new & 2nd hand interiors/furniture) and Chew Chew Bistro (licensed bistro, local produce). Plus a quality fish & chippery, and good bakery. Lots of places to explore and try.Guest review byBlackEyePeaAustralia - 10.0
Great property for family travelling with ensuite bathrooms.
Great property for family travelling with ensuite bathrooms. The property is dated but it meats the style of an old Queenslander. If it was modernised would spoil character.Great wrap round verandah which is gated and can be closed off for young children to safely play. Plenty of utensils and crockery etc in the kitchen, some older adding to the character Will be back to explore this property walking opportunities, dam, ,cattle and horse furtherGuest review byLorraineAustralia
