- Scored out of 10, guest rating 9.1Superb - What previous guests thought, 11 reviewsI stayed at Morris Apartments with my sister for a 2-week stay and Bob kindly collected us from the airport on arrival, and took us to a local supermarket to purchase some provisions as we had arrived late in the evening. I cannot express how brilliant the apartment suited our needs which was like a home from home, and is about 5-7 minute walk to Paynes Beach in St. James. Bob was a brilliant host and was good enough to provide us guide sheet with a list of useful restaurants, taxis, supermarkets etc. Joan and her son came to the apartment to provide a weekly clean, and we also met the wonderful Dorothy in the neighbouring apartment. If anyone is thinking of staying in the area, I would highly recommend Morris Apartments. Bob - thank you again for looking after us, you are wonderful. We look forward to returning.Guest review bysucharithaUnited Kingdom
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 8.8Fabulous - What previous guests thought, 46 reviewsI have stayed in several different hotels in Barbados in a period of over 30 years. I'm afraid The Sandpiper wins hands down! In terms of dining, the hotel offers complete flexibility - you can decide whether or not to eat in the restaurant without pre-booking; or you can walk out to one of the many restaurants in nearby Holetown (The Sitar Indian is particularly good). The Sandpiper has an excellent 20m swimming pool, ideal for people like us who swim as a form of exercise; there is a smaller pool for children/families. Above all The Sandpiper has a friendly and enthusiastic team; everyone went out of their way to be helpful. No wonder most of the people staying here are on their 3rd, 4th or maybe even 10th visit! I will be back.Guest review byVictorUnited Kingdom
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 9.8Exceptional - What previous guests thought, 23 reviewsThe perfect place to stay in Barbados. The accommodation was fantastic, in a beautiful tropical garden, where hummingbirds visited several times during our stay. Rochelle was brilliant and helped us to order food and taxis, where required and was on hand for advice, if needed, but also gave us privacy. Shades was in an excellent location, just over a hundred steps, to the one of the best beaches in Barbados. I enjoyed coming back to Shades as much as going out, as it was a beautiful, safe and relaxing oasis. It had a lovely atmosphere, with Rochelle's family around who were very welcoming. I would definitely recommend.Guest review byGarrettUnited Kingdom
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 8.8Fabulous - What previous guests thought, 60 reviewsAmazing apartment on the ground floor with the large patio having a gate onto the pool area. It was so lovely to be able to go in and out of the apartment into the pool area and have the convenience of being able to pop back indoors if we needed anything. Bedroom very cool with air con and fans elsewhere in the apartment. Kitchen well equipped and a large fridge/freezer. Fatima very helpful, prompt with answering any whatsapp queries and allowed us to stay on a little later on our last day as we had a late flight, which was brilliant as we could use the shower before we left. We will be back!Guest review byFinchUnited Kingdom
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 8.9Fabulous - What previous guests thought, 237 reviewsWe absolutely loved everything! The hotel's territory is very spacious with lots of beautiful plants. It's just a three-minute walk to the beach. The room was light and spacious, outfitted with everything we needed. The owner, David, was always super friendly and helpful. His advice helped us organize our leisure time in the best way. Thanks a lot to the entire Beach View team! If we return to Barbados, we will definitely choose this hotel again.Guest review byViktoriiaUkraine

Saint James is a lovely area, with beautiful beaches and gardens -- very relaxing and quiet, though plenty to do if you wish. We were in the Sunset Crest neighbourhood of Holetown and could walk to the beach and beach club, and to a whole range of restaurants and shops as well as a great grocery store. If you want to go further afield, there are frequent busses. The Surfside Restaurant is a great place for lunch, and Paul Owens at the Beach House and the Tides are two of Barbados' best restaurants!Guest review byKiloranCanada - 10.0

St. James is one of the 12 Parishes on the island of Barbados. It if the home of the oldest Church on the island (which I attended a beautiful church service on Sunday morning). The local food and drink was delicious and I wish I had more time to experience more of it. St. James has much to offer in the area.Guest review byJamesUnited States - 8.0

Good location with plenty of places to eat and drink, plus shops/supermarket. Beach was superb and sea weed free! On a return trip I would be tempted to stay at St Lawrence Gap for its quaintness and holiday atmosphere.Guest review byAdrianJersey
