New ZealandFabulous hotel with plenty of facilities but with the feel of a boutique hotel. Lovely indoor pool. Lives up to its name with a lush garden courtyard and beautiful rose garden. We were really pleased with the high quality of the rooms. They are much more tastefully decorated and furnished than the comparable chain hotels. Room was very spacious and extremely comfortable. Everything was very clean, including the carpet. I would love to return for a longer stay. I would highly recommend the hotel.

So nice ! The quiet surroundings were a welcome reprieve from our busy city life . Great view with a beach and nicely landscaped property with seating areas here and there to enjoy the view or just relax or read a book along with a barbecue area and a zen gazebo . Kayaking , canoeing and peddle boating with gear all included as well as an outside hot tub and steam cave . Also , spa facilities on site for a fee and near a park with walking trails . There are three types of accommodation - heated tents , cabins and rooms. we had a great view of the inlet and the dock and a very enjoyable place to sit in the grounds overlooking all the activities. The resort was active but pleasantly quiet . There is a pub which operates from 12.00 - 8.00 p.m. with a well balanced food menue, prices for meals are reasonable ranginf from $C12-$C24 per item , servings were substantial. Good for shopping, the artisans market on a Saturday well worth a visit. Good base to explore the coast. First nation museum small but interesting. Burnett Falls an easy hike. Mediocre, misleading, NOT A RESORT. Had to travel back to another town for food, the beaches, lakes, activities, etc. There was nothing to do on site. Nothing available on site. It appears to be a trailer park and marina that decided to make some extra cash by having motel rooms, but they call themselves a resort and post beautifully tailored pictures on their website. Egmont itself is just a small settlement,with a pub and convenience store and dock. It is the take off point for the forest rail to the Skookumchuck tidal passage , a 4 kms hike on the actual trail throughthe forest , the trek is well rewarded with a stunning view of the narrows, but it is twisty and slightly rocky and care should be taken to avoid twisted ankles. Scenic area to visit with lots of great hiking and lovely towns. Our hosts had helpful information on what to do and see in the area. The Pender Harbour Blues festival at the beginning of June is fun. Could have spent more time exploring. Powell River is a "jumping off point" for outdoor enthusiasts and has loads of natural beauty. The town itself is nothing special, but the local people have a welcoming, casual and unpretentious vibe that is really charming. The Old Courthouse Inn and its Edie Rae Cafe are a slice of the Victorian past. Magpie's has delicious breakfasts with a Ukrainian flare.Guest review bySparks
