I had the absolute pleasure of staying at Hotel Zeit & Traum, and I must say, it was one of the best experiences I've ever had. I've stayed in hotels across nearly 40 countries, and this one easily ranks in my top three. The hotel itself is immaculately clean and beautifully designed, but what truly sets it apart is the breathtaking view overlooking the lake—simply stunning. While the location itself may not be the most central, the incredible view more than makes up for it. You truly feel like you're in a tranquil, scenic paradise. However, the most memorable part of my stay was the warmth and hospitality of the staff. Everyone went above and beyond to ensure we felt welcome and comfortable. Their genuine smiles, constant attentiveness, and eagerness to help made our experience unforgettable. A standout feature was the ever-present snacks and fruits, which were promptly refilled whenever they ran out. The attention to detail and level of care was remarkable. This level of customer service is hard to come by these days, and Hotel Zeit & Traum delivered it in spades. In short, this hotel combines a fantastic view with world-class service. Me and my husband are travelling a lot and over the last 10 years we`ve been to many great hotels. The Cambrian from now on will be on our top list. Let me list just a few things that impressed us: 1) beautiful interior! the hotel is new and designed with a style and comfort. Rooms are of a good size and the view from the balcony was just breathtaking! You can find everything that you need in the room including the tea and coffee maker. The cosmetics in the bathroom are the best quality too. 2) for the breakfast everyone will find something for himself as there is plenty of choice. We also had dinner in the hotel and we equally enjoy it 3) The spa zone offers saunas, steam room, interior and exterior pools and the relaxing area. We love them all! And they are a great addition to your stay when you are traveling in the low season 4) finally the location of the hotel - close to the city center, restaurants and for walking trips 5) last not least, the Reception customer service and all the hotel personnel who we met. They are all very kind and helpful! I was greatly surprised when they remembered about our anniversary and left a message in our room. And I was even more touched when my husband left a computer mouse in the room while we checked out - and the hotel contacted us and sent us this computer old mouse by post to our home address! Yes, The Cambrian are exceptional! We will be returning and recommending this beautiful place!

We booked an overnight stay and wished we could have stayed longer. The staff were very friendly and welcoming and our rooms were spacious and very comfortable. We had a lovely fully-equipped mini -apartment with a balcony and our teens had a really nice double room with lake view. We liked the Swiss chalet feel. Brienz is such a nice place to visit and Hotel Lindenhof is just a short walk from the centre and has wonderful views of the lake and mountains, making it a perfect place to relax after exploring this beautiful area of Switzerland.

We did fair amount of hiking in the mountains and it was fantastic to come back to Beatus, relax at the spa and have great meal and rest. View at the mountains and the lake was superb, we liked salt water and inside pool, swimming in the lake, food: breakfast, dinner any snacks, relaxing atmosphere. Pier for the lake boat was right by the hotel. Staff was always helpful and fantastic. Great service.

Great hotel in the scenic Grimsel Pass area. Fabulous location for walking or visiting the Gelmerbahn. Bus stops at the door and it's only 1 hour from Meiringen. The terrace restaurant is nice for during the day or pre-dinner drinks. Food is outstanding especially considering the isolated location. Well done to the kitchen staff and chef.

The hotel is just amazing as it shows in the photos, the room with balcony has a stunning view in the morning when the sun rises, the mattress is so comfortable that I slept so well. The spa facilities just in the lake, after a hot spa and sauna you can step in the lake from the stairs directly, this is amazing. Strongly recommended!

A stay in a local hotel gives you free access to excellent...

A stay in a local hotel gives you free access to excellent public transport covering quite a wide area, including the renowned Zentrum Paul Klee, designed by world famous architect Renzo Piano. There's a lot to see and do in Bern, from the well known Zytglogge to the bears enclosure, art galleries, historical churches, buildings and fountains, any kind of shops in and around the famous arcades, a wide variety of restaurants. It's a relatively small city and feels very safe and congenial. It's very easy to get around, on foot and by public transport (buses, trams). My favourite activity in Bern is to wander down the arcades and look at (and visit) the shops.

We were there for a quick trip, ostensibly to go to Jungfraujoch, which was a fantastic day trip. We spend the other day exploring Interlaken, which is such a gorgeous town, and going up Harder Kulm to the lookout.

There was a great view from my balcony as we could see Mount Eiger facing us closely from time to time. The location of the hotel was also great as it was just 4-minute walk from the Grindelwald station. In fact, the room size was a bit small. However, the breakfast was good with variety.

3 Families sent us exchange students years ago, and we are still friends with all of them, so a lot of visiting. Dinner on the lake, afternoon tea at Schloss Schadau, downtown area by the river. plenty of scenic side trips like the funicular up the Neisen and the Thunerseespiele (musical presented in an outdoor theater overlooking the lake) and plenty of other things to se and do

Not worth the money to book accommodation for even a one night stay. Only cheap & tacky shops, lacks character & charm - very small (but there are so many lovely quaint towns in Switzerland!), & forgettable. Was recommended an Indian restaurant by a local - & that too was lousy :(

Three days would have been right if the weather had...

Three days would have been right if the weather had cooperated. We had 3 days of rain and clouds. Did not go to the top of either mountain as it was totally fogged in on all 3 days. We did enjoy the rest of the area, doing what we could in the rain.

Wilderswil was a pleasant surprise. a quiet residential...

Wilderswil was a pleasant surprise. a quiet residential community a few kilometers from Interlaken, the area is quiet and friendly. A short bus ride to the main train station and into the city of Interlaken provides access to the rest of the area. I look forward to returning in the winter to enjoy the surrounding snowfall (hopefully!).

Very nice location on its own, you are also very close to visit the Ballenberg open air museum, the Lungern area, Meiringen, Rosenlaui, Rothorn, St-Beatus Caves and take a boat ride on Lake Brienz. You are also close to Lauterbrunnen, Interlanken and Thun.

Kandersteg was incredible, out of season so was super quiet...

Kandersteg was incredible, out of season so was super quiet for the perfect chilled couple of days. The hike to lake Oeschinensee was beautiful, the snow adding to the whole experience. Great transport links to the rest of Switzerland, has shops to provide what you’ll need while you’re there to cosy up in an apartment for a few days.
