Exceptional location, very close to the Mürren BLM station. Generous and varied breakfast served in a lounge with spectacular panoramic views of the Lauterbrunnen Valley and the three peaks: Eiger, Mönch, and Jungfrau. The cleanliness of the rooms was excellent. The staff were very kind and empathetic in the face of an unexpected and very difficult health issue for us: from the receptionists to the waiters, everyone was very attentive and supportive. We hope to return to Mürren, and if rooms are available, we will stay at Hotel Alpina again. Thank you for everything.

The staff and host were so friendly and made us feel at home. The place is peaceful, immaculately clean and full of warmth. The breakfast was wholesome and delicious due to the fresh ingredients. The rooms and the hotel overlook the beautiful lake and mountains. The toilet has a bidet installed. Perfect location for hiking in Murren and around and a good start for the Northface trail. Good breakfast, clean and comfortable rooms and an unforgatable view of the all three northfaces of Jungfrau, Monch and Eiger, permanently in sight. The personnel and the owner of the Hotel were very kind and helpfull. The road from Murren to the Hotel takes around half an hour uphill and it is not recommended for troller-bagages (the path is paved with small stones). Best way at arrival is to take the funicular from Murren up to Allmendhubbel and from there to hike down to the hotel about 10 minutes. It is not so tiersome this way. Should you have trollers as luggage I also recommend to contact the property. They could provide transportation. At departure, hiking down to Murren is easy and recommendable (since it is downhill) having always the mountains in sight. We stayed for three nights but two nights is optimal. We hiked Northface trail which we recommend via Wasserfall Sprutz and arriving at Gimmewald were we had the hightlight of the jurney having a cold beer in a hot day on the terrace (upstairs) at Pension Gimmewald.

    Interlaken was the “cherry on top” of our European travels.

    Interlaken was the “cherry on top” of our European travels. The views were amazing (I’ve never seen 30+ paragliders in the sky…in the ALPs no less!!!), the area was so quaint, the locals friendly; and eating Swiss fondue somehow tastes better from the Alps! Highky recommend cappuccino and breakfast at the Aarburg (Tim & His Wife are awesome & The food not only tastes amazing but each dish is a work of art!) and the Boutique Hotel Bellevue.

    Enjoyed a fantastic meal at Loetschberg.

    Enjoyed a fantastic meal at Loetschberg. Lively space with tables full of locals and visitors alike. The Coop is amazing! We got lunch in the "food court" and carried it upstairs to the bar area. Fantastic. The bears are a must-see, and we enjoyed a drizzly walk up to the Rose Garden. The Paul Klee museum is interesting, well done and clearly a labor of love for the city. Bern would be even more beautiful in the sun, but the people made it perfectly enjoyable.

    Grindelwald is definitely a place to visit and stay if you want to see the mountains up close. It is a comfortable and cozy little town which has cable cars to take you up in the mountain where there are activities like Zip Line and Tobogganing. It is very accessible by Bus and Trains. There are many restaurants with multiple cuisines available.

    Three days would have been right if the weather had cooperated. We had 3 days of rain and clouds. Did not go to the top of either mountain as it was totally fogged in on all 3 days. We did enjoy the rest of the area, doing what we could in the rain.

    3 Families sent us exchange students years ago, and we are still friends with all of them, so a lot of visiting. Dinner on the lake, afternoon tea at Schloss Schadau, downtown area by the river. plenty of scenic side trips like the funicular up the Neisen and the Thunerseespiele (musical presented in an outdoor theater overlooking the lake) and plenty of other things to se and do

    I did not realize when I booked our hotel that Wengen was reachable by train only. I thought I had made a terrible mistake. But it was the best mistake of my life. We were there the weekend of the cheese festival and that was a great experience. We felt like locals! We stayed at Hotel Jungfraublick and I highly recommend it. I could have stayed forever!

    Very nice location on its own, you are also very close to visit the Ballenberg open air museum, the Lungern area, Meiringen, Rosenlaui, Rothorn, St-Beatus Caves and take a boat ride on Lake Brienz. You are also close to Lauterbrunnen, Interlanken and Thun.

    Kandersteg is a beautiful place for hiking and outdoor activities. I highly recommend to go to the Oeschenesee, it was one of our favorites on our trip. If you stay a little bit longer, maybe you also want to go to Saint-Leonard underground lake, what is easy to access with a car train that leaves from Kandersteg.

    Wilderswil was a pleasant surprise. a quiet residential community a few kilometers from Interlaken, the area is quiet and friendly. A short bus ride to the main train station and into the city of Interlaken provides access to the rest of the area. I look forward to returning in the winter to enjoy the surrounding snowfall (hopefully!).
