I recommend coming around 6 PM, as the main influx of visitors decreases by then. The breakfasts are simply amazing. We had dinner there once – everything was great as well, but it's best to reserve a table in advance. A very well run town. Train service from Täsch was easy to navigate, and the down town area was walkable and quaint. Lots of shops and restaurants, although the shops tend to close early. We would probably go another time to B&B Gasenried when we are there. It is a nice B&B with friendly staff and owner and they are located on a spectacular place. Our experience of Blatten was amazing! We were blown out by this little gem! We went up the cable car, had some drinks, came down and some more by the restaurant across the street. If you like walking this trip is for you. The Matterhorn Trail was fantastic as the track was complimented with beautiful places to eat. Food is expensive though with little choice. Zermatt is a very cute town.
Zermatt is a very cute town. It is reputedly vehicle-free but there are plenty of electric service vehicles whizzing about. Nice shops to browse. It is a very expensive place to eat - it wasn’t uncommon to see families sharing main courses (eg. Pizzas). Great furnicular service inside the mountain, where you are immediately rewarded with Matterhorn views. Lots of hiking options at the top too. It is also the start of The Glacier Express.
