- From US$301.38 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.8Fabulous - What previous guests thought, 3,323 reviewsFff... where to begin? Located in a massive neo-romantic property facing Annecy Lake, this hotel offers everything you need for a perfect holiday. From check in to check out, everyone goes literally out of their way to make you feel welcome. The room is probably amongst my top 5 in terms of space, and it offers unique features you only see in classic or ultra luxury hotels of the likes of Four Seasons, Mandarin Oriental, JW Marriott, such as a separate walk in closet, 3 floor-to-ceiling big windows with a view to the city and the mountain, closets with automatic lighting when you open the doors, all sorts of amenities such as coffee, ironing table, umbrella, shoe sponge, laundry bag but also their own, hard cardboard shopping bag! The bathroom is detached from the WC, which is typical from Belgium and the Netherlands (maybe from this area in France as well) which makes it quite convenient for two people as they can each be using a different facility at the same time. The shower is a dream come true, the bed is a cloud, the views are simply breath-taking and you're spoilt with courtsy chocolates and cupcakes every time you get back to your room. To make matters even more celestial, they have their own spa with a very generous swimming pool, whirlpool and two saunas, and two restaurant the food of which is super high quality. I had a delicious pizza in the italian restaurant and a veggie hamburguer in the brasserie and was quite happy with the outcome and the friendliness of their stuff, although I wouldn't describe it as an unforgettable culinary experience.Guest review byMartínNetherlands
- From US$658.59 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.4Very good - What previous guests thought, 34 reviews1-They treated us as real guests ! They never ask for credit cards to block our money, or pay deposit, although , we had our dinner in the 3 stars Mechlin restaurant and the cost was over 600 €, no one asks us to sign anything, all was charged to the room, professional staff, they spot what you like and what you don’t, like our drinks on the breakfast for the next day, they pay attention for the details. 2- They granted us gifts, desserts, cakes, with a nice message left on the table informing us that there is a gift for us in the mini bar. 3- so friendly staff, we love everything from the moment we checked in, to the moment we check out, also a gift from the garden upon our check out. Amazing hotel, last but not least the location was wonderful, our room was Mountain View, Definitely would come back againGuest review byAhmadKuwait

Very easy to walk into Evian les bains which has a Fri market, lots of shops and resturants. If you have a car it's a short drive to chateau Chillon, Yvoire and Morzine and the Gorges de Diable. Lovely and warm room with a well equipped kitchen area.. There is a large room with a few pieces of gym equipment which we used for pilates. Nice clean pool. You could pre book a set 3 course meal for 16 euros.Guest review byClaireUnited Kingdom

There is a very decent tv set to watch a film when the weather outside was too cold to be out on the terrace! As the restaurant was closed on the Sunday night, they provided a "planche", a cheese and cold meat assortment which did the trick after a long journey.Guest review byLaMarche37United Kingdom

Horrible, dirty city.
Horrible, dirty city. There are better European locations to travel to. The old town is literally one street that will take you 15 minutes to walk through and back. The metro map is confusing, with no English translations anywhere. The entire city is under construction. The cathedral has beautiful architecture with French descriptions. Definitely not a tourist-friendly city.Guest review byRadekPoland - 8.0

The town is quite run down with a lot of graffiti and many closed businesses. The gondola to the Bastille was very uncomfortable and really there was nothing at the top, except the view of the city. However, we had two great dinners - one in a traditional French restaurant and the other at a 1 star Michelin restaurant.Guest review byElizabethAustralia - 4.0
To be honest, Valence is an ugly city.
To be honest, Valence is an ugly city. The Rhone flows through it but alas large motorways beside it. The centre is a bit run down. If you are on your way and are near it, you can visit the centre and have something to eat. There is a nice park near the river.Guest review bybNetherlands - 8.0
Interesting town with cultural heritage.
Interesting town with cultural heritage. I was just passing through en route from Italy to London but it is a perfect stopover for one night. Unfortunately I was there on a Monday, when some attractions eg the castle are closed but I did visit the cathedral. There are many restaurants which sell local produce.Guest review byJohnUnited Kingdom - 8.0

Aix-les-Bains is a very pleasant town on the shores of the biggest lake in France: Lake Bouget. There are lots of restaurants and places to visit including a Casino, mountains and water sports. If you can, we recommend you try the boat cruse around the lake and include a meal on board.Guest review byBarryUnited Kingdom - 2.0

The bed bugs. toilet paper . I made 3 separate booking .You have to buy your own Toilet paper .room cleaning is extra charge .If I booked 3 times in separate occasions they must be doing the bed and give the cleaned room to me no matter its same room . I paid full price .There was a bug at the window and Room220 is right at the road where Tram runs 24 hours almost .Christina is very rude so be firm with her .The rest of girls are really nice and speaks some English.Christina does not know English at all .She should not be working at a hotel where mostly Foreigners stays .Guest review byfouziaCanada - 10.0

We were on a mission to revisit Parc de Merlet with our grandaughter thirty-six years after we took her mother. The Parc delivered, with Chamois, Mouflon and Marmots to enjoy. The views from accommodation on that side of the valley are the best in the valley. In Les Houches village, the local patisserie was visited and a different cake enjoyed every day. There were plenty of paths (including Tour de Mont Blanc) into the forest, for walks from the chalet. Wonderful Alpine wildlife is easy to find. It was convenient to take the free train into Chamonix and take a ride to Le Brevent then walk the ridge and back to the chalet. We did the Mer de Glas, to from Chamonix. We went up to Bellevue on the teleferique and walked across the alp, finding several wild flowers and even a rare Wart-Biter Grasshopper! We then took the Tramway du Mont Blanc down to Saint-Gervais-Les-Bains and had a lovely afternoon in the beautiful park. There was a very tough Via Ferrata for the over 70s (with 50 years experience) and a Go Ape-type circuit with a rock-climb included in the trail for the 10-year-old and her Mamma, then train back to Les Houches. One weekend evening was lively down in the village, but up on the hill we could sit out in relative calm and stare at the sunset on snowy Mont Blanc, stars and the torch-lights of mountaineers picking their way down. All-in-all, very relaxing.Guest review byValerie - 6.0
Evian-les-Bains in June, during what should be peak tourist...
Evian-les-Bains in June, during what should be peak tourist season, felt unexpectedly lifeless. Many stores appeared permanently closed, and the town lacked any real atmosphere after early evening—by 10pm, only the casino restaurant was still serving food. This left few options for late dining or entertainment. Given these circumstances and the general sense of a closed-up town, I would not recommend visiting Evian-les-Bains, especially if you're expecting a lively lakeside resort experience. While some guides and official tourism pages highlight Evian's attractive lakefront, Belle Époque architecture, and potential activities along the lake and nearby outdoors, recent firsthand accounts confirm a lack of vibrancy and operational businesses, even in traditionally busy months. For travelers who prioritize a bustling atmosphere and broad dining options long into the evening, it may be better to look elsewhere.Guest review byRudyKUnited States
