An hotel in the center of a beautiful village surrounded by magnificent mountains. Haven of peace where everything is settled. Very warm welcome. You immediately feel at home here. The staff is very kind. The rooms are beautiful. Mountain style decoration with a little modernism, it's very cozy. The garden with the chairs around the SPA and the swimming pool is beautifully maintained. The restaurant's menus are incredible and you can have one of the dishes as “ à la carte” very appreciating . The food is excellent. This small hotel was a stopover on our trip. The buffet breakfast offers some options, I would suggest some omlette, not only boiled eggs. The hotel has also a restaurant and a bar. If you arrive by train from Andermatt, you can get down at Acla da Fontauna station, just before Disentis, it's much closer than Disentis. I have also received a message from the hotel that they can provide free transfer from train station, but didn't require it since Acla da Funtauna is 8 minutes walking distance. Great place for hikers and bikers.
Great place for hikers and bikers. Cable car or Post Bus takes you all the way to the top of the mountains from where you can either bike down or hike down back to the Flims town. We stayed for one night at the hostel, there are hotels available but the hostel was enough practical and sufficient for us, family of 4 for one night. I wish we could stay longer as we loved it, everything exceeded our expectations and more. The views are stunning, the whole area is well organised with plenty to do. Would recommend to all our friends.T Here is a visitor pass available which covers a gondola, ski lifts and trains, a great value for your money. Ilanz is a lovely little town with numerous historic buildings. It is a wonderful place to stay if you want to have easy access to numerous ski areas, walking trails and pretty villages. The owners are very nice hosts, location is awesome if you're looking for scenery and calmness, very comfortable sleeping. We have received a complimentary upgrade (were super happy to use a terrace, with comfy chairs, chaise-longues, trampoline and even pet rabbits!) The breakfast was very generous, keeping in mind that at the date we stayed, there were not many guests. Lovely, historic town with a range of facilities The area was new to us but offered an unusual range of alpine experiences: Up the cablecars of the region for high mountain landscapes (The Guest Card issued by the apartment owner on behalf of the town was great value, giving free unlimited rides on the cable cars); Walks from nearby villages through lovely green meadows (And the occasional walkers suspension bridge); Trips into side valleys for wilder country and real mountain peace; Just over the Lucomagno Pass into Ticino for some of the loveliest of alpine meadows; and down river to the grandeur of the Rhein-Schlucht (Gorge)Guest review byPaulUnited Kingdom
