The hotel's location is very central - on the main street with plenty of shops, supermarkets, bars, restaurants around and just 10 min walk from the airport. The venue is really beautiful with its own garden that idyllic and has many tropical fruit trees. The room was of decent size, very clean and comfortable with own balcony overlooking the garden. Plenty of common area space to relax with water available everywhere. We also appreciated the "Honesty Bar" where we could get any drinks or snacks on our own and just write down what we took that was billed at the check-out, including the Nespresso coffee. All the staff were very nice and welcoming, we also got the tour and some history of this hotel that was the very first accommodation many summers back. Many guests previously mentioned dogs on the streets and roosters in the morning, they did not bother us at all... after all, this is how the island is! The dogs are everywhere on Rapa Nui, not only on the street of the hotel and they are very friendly and relaxed. The roosters are more or less the same. The communication before the arrival was very useful with good advice and suggestions. The tours we booked with the hotel in advance also were great and had good value. Overall we definitely would recommend this hotel to stay at. The farewell gifts also found nice place in our home.

Location - a little bit away from the hustle bustle of downtown. Great views, very quiet. Calm and peaceful location Staff goes above and beyond Food and drinks were amazing Because there are only 16 lodges it is not over crowded Shuttle service to downtown and back for a nominal CLP 5,000 per trip made it convenient to go around town

Hanga Roa is centre of population with nearly everyone on the island living there. There are plenty of restaurants, bars, cafes and shops - and never any hassle. English is spoken, but not widely - we got by with 'Spanglish' and sign language mainly, although Google translate did help. Prices are by and large very reasonable in bars, cafes and restaurants - there are expensive places to eat if you wish to splash out. Supermarkets are pretty good and not pricey - wine in particular was pretty cheap...and good too!! An offline map app such as MAPS.ME is invaluable as the phone signal can be in and out and once out of town...it is definitely out! We took one day with a guide for all the National Park sights (which was excellent) and hired a car locally for a day. You can drive by all the sights without a guide, but look from afar, as it is prohibited to go up close unaccompanied. Tourists have been known to souvenir bits of Moai etc., so it's fair enough really. Have some respect!

We stayed for an entire week to unwind from 2 months in South America, but that might be a bit long if you're just looking to see the Moai. Hanga Roa was much more sparse than expected, but once you find your bearings you'll find there are plenty of restaurants dotted around and almost all of them have good ratings. There's a small place for public swimming which is walled off so it's safe, but slightly rocky so wear shoes. There was a dog there but he was very friendly! The people are friendly and everything feels really relaxed, and there's the opportunity to see the sunsets in that area too. ...maybe be slightly careful with the drinks there...the wine was fine and what you'd expect, but we had a Daiquiri in one of the seafront bars and they were so strong we nearly died. Honestly - we could barely walk back safely to our hotel after just two each and we both felt low-energy for multiple days afterwards. You have been warned.

This was a trip of a lifetime.

This was a trip of a lifetime. I recommend everyone to visit Easter island. There is so much to do and see. This is an amazing place to visit. We loved doing the tours around the island and seeing the Moais everywhere and learning about the history of the island. My favorite places were the Quarry, Anakena beach and seeing the sunrise at Tongariki.
