A truly outstanding stay! The room was comfortable with a brand-new bathroom, and the view from the terrace was just stunning. The owning couple are such lovely people who clearly put a lot of care and attention into every detail. Breakfast was amazing and far above what you’d normally expect in this area. The hotel is in a good location beside the cable car station. The price I paid was incredible value for the quality of the facilities and food…the breakfast was one of the best hotel breakfasts I’ve had. The four course dinner was very good quality although the portion size could perhaps have been a little larger after a day of hiking. Cake was also provided in the afternoon which unfortunately I missed out as I was out. I also appreciated the travel pass which saved me a lot of money for my bus journey home as well as a visit to nearby Goslar. I was also very impressed by the staff at mealtimes as well as the man at reception who was very welcoming.

It was a very calm environment. Perfect for resting. You were able to declare that you don’t wanna be distrubed during the stay and have privacy in your room which worked pretty well. For not getting room service you got a free water. It was quiet during the night and the room was comfortable. The breakfast was amazing and perfect for vegans as well. We were surprised. There is a private entrance to a hike trail on the property of the hotel and you are able to join a guided walk on some days. Free water and apples all day. We went during christmas and the decorations were very cute too.

This hotel was excellent - with efficient and friendly staff in a great location for hill walking, mountain biking and other sports. I had half pension and the breakfast and evening meal were top notch. A little gem- the inner city and castle untouched by all the wars- it has changed a lot cosmetically since the reunification of Germany - but it's charm has remained. Quite walkable- the only challenging part being the sometimes steep stroll up to the castle. Don't ignore the side streets- there are some wonderful shops hidden away.

Goslar is a surprisingly beautiful town, boasting thousands of well-preserved medieval houses in its charming Old Town. Its meticulously maintained architecture makes it a unique destination in the Harz mountain region of Germany, offering a perfect blend of history and natural beauty. Take a bus to Oker, where you'll discover plenty of beautiful hiking routes waiting to be explored. Town is full of history with medieval houses and a hilltop castle that is very popular for German tourists. English is not common, especially in restaurant or their menus, so sometimes difficult for non-German speakers. Great place to visit Harz Mountains hiking areas and the Titan-RT suspension bridge and Dam and the Wendefurth reservoir for boating. Harz Railway Steam train to the Broken Mountain.
