The best hotel I’ve ever stayed in. The staff are incredibly warm and welcoming, always greeting you with a smile — something you truly appreciate after a five-hour journey. The rooms are stunning, with a magical atmosphere and a breathtaking view of the castle. Honestly, the price feels almost too low for what the hotel offers. You can also book tickets for both castles directly through them, and they’ll hand them to you the next morning — super convenient. They offer the possibility to dine at their restaurant as well. We arrived too late for dinner, but they still prepared a tasting platter for two with sausages, cured meats, cheese, cherry tomatoes, and plenty of their delicious homemade bread. We couldn’t even finish it! Breakfast was absolutely outstanding — calling it “complete” would be an understatement. All in all, highly recommended. If I had to point out a flaw, it would be the flies — they’re everywhere. But hey, we still haven’t figured out how to control insect minds, so…

The SPA experience was amazing, didn’t have many people so felt comfortably fine. The memory mattresses were cool. The breakfast was super tasty!!! I wish to come back with my family again. This visit was too short, to enjoy the facilities. Loved also the perfectly white towels and bed lining. Superb!

A special, family-run hotel. Great atmosphere and exceptional staff. We stayed with dinner and breakfast and they were wonderful, thoughtful and varied. This hotel is pristine clean, the facilities wonderful, and a lovely location right on the side of the lake. However, what makes the hotel even more wonderful is the staff; they were incredibly friendly and accommodating, delivering an excellent customer service throughout our stay. I think this is more appreciated as we were English and spoke hardly any German, and it was a predominantly German hotel (as we expected). This was the first stop on our Honeymoon, and they were wonderful on upgrading our room so that it had views of both the mountains and the lake, adding rose petals on the bed, they decorated the table formally for our first dinner, and as a farewell they gave us a bottle of sparkling wine. I particular want to identify two members of staff who were particularly lovely ; Lara who was on reception and greeted us to the hotel was very nice and made us feel very welcome. And Sören, who we believe was the restaurant manager, and who looked after us on both evening meals, and whose customer service was outstanding, ensuring we were comfortable the entire time.

The location! 🤩 The hotel is located up the hill in Hopfen am See, a stunning place in the Allgäu region with breathtaking views all around, most of all of Schloss Neuschwanstein which can be seen from a distance. The hotel staff was extremely friendly and helpful at all times, the apartment was spacious and the food was exceptional (organic and locally grown) - fantastic breakfast buffet and a delicious choice of freshly cooked dishes every evening. The pool area is spacious and welcoming and there are free aquagym courses on offer.

Clean comfortable hotel in a beautiful location with excellent spa facilities. Plus points for us was tesla charger included in cost, we are a family of vegetarians and vegans and we're well catered for. Ate in restaurant for 3 meals, all excellent with great service. Staff very friendly and helpful. We opted for a balcony room for one of us which was amazing with views of neuschwanstein Castle and the lake and mountains. 2 other rooms were without the view but were large and comfortable.

We loved our stay at Das Konig Ludwig. The staff were very polite and helpful, the breakfast was delicious. They had a good variety of cheese, fruit, yogurt, breads, fresh squeezed juice, a spectacular variety of teas, and many healthy options. The hotel was very clean, the beds comfortable and the shower had very good water pressure. No wifi issues throughout the property. The spa and pool areas were well kept and the towels were plentiful. We cannot wait to go back.

Exceptional location with great views of the nearby castles and lake. The hotel had fantastic facilities and spa, and the interior design really gave it a magical feel in the run up to Christmas. I stayed in Füssen manly to go look at Neuschwanstein and the Wieskirche, but discovered the old city is gorgeous and it also has wonderful trails to hike in the surrounding areas! I would definitely come back!

The town is lovely for a walk and for viewing the painted buildings. You can also get some good beer. Prices are higher due to the proximity of the castle. The town is an ideal place to stay for visiting the castle or for hiking. The roads are well maintained, as are the cycling and hiking trails. Our visit was at the end of September, with slightly worse weather, so we did not experience any crowds.

Magical place to stay for winter holidays, surrounded with lots of ski and tobogganing tracks, great communication with another villages. Food scene quite limited , same as night entertainment, I would rather to have a bit more of this to spend betters nights.

I did not enter any of the castles or museums. I had done that 50 years ago, as a student in Munich. I liked just walking around, soaking up the tourist vibe, predominantly Chinese. I even liked the rainy-sunny mix of weather, so characteristic of the Allgaue region.

What I especially liked, Ehrwald has everything close by: restaurants, cable cars, and beautiful hiking trails. It’s the perfect starting point for tours and enjoying the local cuisine. I ate at Hoisler’s Wirtshaus, on the Ehrwalder Alm, and at Papas Café Bar – all of them were tasty and had a cozy atmosphere. Getting around Ehrwald is super easy. You can take the bus, explore on foot, or drive – everything is well connected. There are lots reat activities for solo travelers: A trip to the highline179 in Reutte, Tyrol was a real highlight – the suspension bridge offers breathtaking views and is easy to reach. While you're there, you can also take in the impressive Ehrenberg castle complex. Hiking from the Seebensee to the Drachensee or visiting the Eibsee are also highly recommended – stunning scenery and well worth the effort.

We loved the tiny town with everything so close by. It was so clean and the people really lovely. It was fantastic catching up with family after 28 years!! We had the best breakfast at Hotel Lowen and a really great pizza and pasta night at I’ll Castro . Very good value and excellent traditional food. We used Nesselwang as a base and daily went on trips. We visited Salzburg, Innsbruck , Lake Konigsee, Lake Konstanz, Heididorf in Switzerland and so much more.

This is a great area if you like a quiet village, nature, walking, hiking, biking, swimming in nearby lakes. My hotel, Alpenblick, was a perfect location for all of this. Having a car helps, but there are buses to most places in the area and train connections from nearby towns. One big hub is Steingaden from where you can get to most places. This area is a good place to slow down, relax, recuperate if you are living in a fast paced city and all that it entails. People are friendly and helpful if the hotel staff are anything to go by.

The beautiful hotel Schwarzenbach is highly recommended, we will come back soon! Very friendly staff/service, clean, lovely breakfast, very good cook, beautiful view to the lake and the rolling hills...... We had a tour inside the Castle of Neuschwanstein, went to Reutte/Austria and to Oberammergau near Zugspitze. The dark beer King Ludwig is my favorite!
