A really nice small hotel in central Sonderborg. We had a delicious dinner in their restaurant, a good mix of Danish and Italian cuisine, and breakfast was delicious too. Lovely friendly staff and we will certainly return if in the area, which is beautiful.

The staff where brilliant very helpful. The room was clean and pleasant with all facility's including a tray with kettle cups tea sugar and fresh milk on request. The breakfast was full continental with everything fresh and well presented.

We really liked the friendly staff who went above and beyond, the light and spacious room, the delicious and varied breakfast and the games room. And lastly because we're English, we asked for a kettle and tea and upon arrival we were greeted with a tray, chocolates coffee and tea with the kettle in the room!

    We visit Sønderborg quite often.

    We visit Sønderborg quite often. It's location at the Baltic Sea and close to the German border make it an attractive location for a day trip or weekend escape. The city center provides lots of shopping options and restaurants. We always enjoy walking along the habor promenade and along the beach.

    Guderup is a typical Danish village, but as it is bang in the middle of Als you have easy access to everywhere on the island. We only had 24 hours there where we started out in Sønderborg, stayed the night and then went to Universe Science Park for which the location was perfect.

    Calm, clean small town, with cozy streets, harbour and waterfront. Spacious streets, huge green areas, long walks in the fresh air. There are no crowds and congestion. Easy to drive, no traffic. An excellent place for a relaxing trip of a few days.

    Sønderborg is a good location for some days to explore the town, surrounding nature and the historical monuments. The castle and Dybbøl are both important parts of the history of Denmark. The town houses a top restaurant (Hotel Alsik) and several restaurant with a more normal price range. We enjoyed a dinner in the Mongolian restaurant which has many well prepared dishes (buffet), beer and wine to fair prices. Perhaps not Michelin style, but we enjoyed it very much and several dishes were excellent; my wife loved the crispy vegetables, and I loved the barbecued pork ribs with frites and the fried seafood.
