We stayed with a family of 3 people in this apartments during winter holidays. The apartments is clean, cozy, convenient with everything you need for a stay. The pictures of apartments totally correspond to reality: there are 3 small rooms to sleep, one kitchen with all needed utilities and big living room with dining table and leisure zone, 3 (!) bathrooms and 2 toilets. It was more than enough for 3 people, but it should be also OK for 6 people. The location of the apartments is nice, it is 5 minutes walk from the lift “Les Coshes” and 5 minutes walk from Sherpa. The big free parking zone is nearby. But the apartments is on the 4th floor without lift, so be ready to this. Ski room is on the 1st floor, it is small but it was ok for 2 skis and 1 snowboard. Also, I didn’t find any public transport except ski bus which work on weekends and take people from and to railway station in Landry. The landlord is very nice. He answered all the questions, provided with detailed instructions and even left a bottle of wine and a sausage in the fridge. It was a pleasant surprise! Another one was WI-FI (because it was in written that there would be no Wifi in the description of apartments on booking). So, I totally recommend this apartment, it is good value for money.

Nice house in a French village, high up in the mountains. Host was very nice and helpful, found us a good parking place for our 6 motorcycles (parking places are quite hard to find in the area, since all houses are quite close to each other and streets are narrow). She even managed to put us in touch with a local beer brewer, even though most shops and restaurants were closed when we got there. I recommend the beer! Very good!

A good selection of runs of different difficulties, plenty of runs for beginners. Good lift system. Some of the bars were a bit rough and ready. Restaurant 2134 was excellent. Easy access to 1950 where the quality and variety of food shops was better.

    Nice small village.

Nice small village. Felt like a place where the French come for the weekend to ski, so suited us. It isn't very big, has about 4 restaurants and two bars. Not much choice for Apres, but all the people we met in bars and restaurants were so helpful. Can highly recommend the skimium shop. I've ski'd for years in many places and this shop was by far the most helpful and friendliest ski shop I've ever visited.

    Nice little village.

Nice little village. One and only grocery store covers the bare necessities, the selection is not very rich. The bakery is open in the morning and is good. There are two rentals and 5 restaurants to choose from. So everything you need is there and enough for a ski vacation.

Nice village to be with plenty of amenities.

Nice village to be with plenty of amenities. Would happily stay there again. Do some research on distance to the slopes, because a long walk can ruin a nice holiday. If you go for dinner, try A Tavola (Italian) and arrive before 19:00 to avoid the crowds.

Have stayed many times and always had good snow.

Have stayed many times and always had good snow. This season there was less than usual but still enough to ski the whole area right down to the village. Was quieter that usual when we were there but didn’t detract from experience. Everything you need is very accessible so you can maximise your time, which is especially useful for shorter stays.

The transfer time from Geneva is longer than the distance...

The transfer time from Geneva is longer than the distance would suggest but the area was great for families - this is not a party area where you are likely to be detained by blaring sounds. The views are great and the area charming. There is a small square where souvenirs can be bought, along with local delicacies. The local supermarket is rather expensive so you may be best to arrive well stocked. That said good shopping is no more than 30 minutes away.

Montchavin is smaller and quieter than most of the other "...

Montchavin is smaller and quieter than most of the other "locations" in the Paradiski resort area but has some very appealing characteristics for many travellers, especially skiers. While small, it (and its neighbor within easy walking distance - Les Coches) are charming villages with shops, restaurants, ski stores, etc. The nightlife is more subdued than the larger locations but still exists. The advantage of Montchavin for skiers is ready access to the Vanoise Express cable car connecting La Plagne with Les Arcs. It makes reaching all parts of the resort easy and fast - 1 chairlift up to the Express. The downside is the lower elevation can mean "iffy" snow conditions compared to high places. For us, the tradeoff was well worth it as we were able to get to the extreme edges of each ski area quickly.
