FAQs about hotels in Var
Sunny Greetings from Sandy Beaches
Part of the French Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region, the Var is famous for its sunny sea resorts, great wine and Romanesque and medieval architecture. With picturesque landscape, plenty of sunshine hours and delicious cuisine, this Mediterranean region is a top tourist destination.
Var’s capital, Toulon, is France’s 2nd-largest naval port and a city on the rise. After years of neglect, it is now thriving with nightlife, undergoing vast revitalisation processes and offering great transport connections. West of Toulon there are popular towns of Saint-Cyr-sur-Mer with popular beaches and Bandol, famous for its exquisite wine.
To the east of the capital lies the most famous resort in Var, Saint-Tropez, filled with cafés, white yachts and wealthy tourists. Most of its sandy beaches offer watersports activities and some are very popular among naturists.
North of Saint-Tropez there is another great beach destination, Sainte-Maxime, where not only can you enjoy jet-skiing and sunbathing, but also play a round or 2 of golf on one of the 8 golf courses in the village’s area.
Whether you’re travelling with just beach relaxation on your mind or looking for a more active holiday with attending local farmer markets and admiring the remains of buildings from the past long gone, visit Booking.com and check out its special offers for boutique, luxury and cosy hotels.

We Didn’t like Toulon. Large, busy place.
We Didn’t like Toulon. Large, busy place. The main town wasn’t nice and not somewhere I would want to walk around. Beaches were very average - dusty shingle rather than sand. I wouldn’t return or recommend. We included the visit in a stopover.Guest review bySarahUnited Kingdom - 8.0

there are no 5star hotel groups there.. no Mario's or sheratons or Hiltons ? wonder why ?? the hotels are overpriced for the value we get. But the city is lovely and a very nice place to visit. Ie. the Breakfast place where we stay - the older generation with old mentality are Races and Rude, but the new younger generation are very nice and polite. I thin the older ones have their pains in the Ass..s to worryGuest review byRajuHong Kong - 10.0
This was my second visit to Cote d'Azur.
This was my second visit to Cote d'Azur. I absolutely love both towns - Frejus with its marina and bars, and Saint Raphael is gorgeous as ever. Sandy beaches, blue sea and sunshine - all that you need. The train goes along the coast and takes you to Nice, Cannes, Monaco, Antibes etc.Guest review byNatalia BrooksUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Hyeres is beautiful like with a touch of Saint Tropez but way more peaceful. The people are nice and kind-very helpful. There are so many beach to chooce from. The transfortation is efficient enough. My favorite spot is the Port Saint Pierre- where you can dine by the port. I stayed in Ibis Budget hotel which is very close to the city center. Also the weather is nice.Guest review byMarvinPhilippines - 10.0

We like to fly into Nice and head to Saint Raphael as it’s a large coastal town with a harbour but smaller than Nice and beautiful promenade and many restaurants . I can swim in the sea everyday and grab the sun . It’s a lovely town . Very easy to grab a bus for day trips to other places or a train. We love heading to St Tropez for a day trip . A lovely bus trip . Cheap and great views of the coastline . Also Agay is beautiful resort . You could do Cannes . I’m not sure as regards nightlife as we are are here to relax . There is a harbour and yachts aplenty . So there are options to indulge in sea/ water activities . There is a Monoprix supermarket on same street as large church and few minutes into front of train station . Various Pharmacies . (Important to note that as of this year you cannot purchase strong painkillers from a pharmacy in France . It’s by presciption only . So if you need or require some ensure you take them with you .) .great boulangeries and cheesemongers . There’s also a fruit , veg , Fish market worth a visit . Saint Raphael is all walkable and I spotted many visitors who were wheelchair users . So access appears to be good here . We usually return to Nice for 2or 3 days for more of a city vibe .Guest review byarthurUnited Kingdom - 10.0
It's simply wonderful.
It's simply wonderful. The town is just the right size, not too big yet not too small. All the facilities are within walking distance. There are lots of bars, reataurants and shops, including supermarkets. The beach is great, too. It's not overcrowded. The prices in some eatieries might seem too high, but it's possible to find some affordable places.Guest review byZygmuntPoland - 10.0
This may be the "family spot" of the Cote d"Azur.
This may be the "family spot" of the Cote d"Azur. There were lots of families with children, ranging from infants to teens. Plenty of couples as well, ranging from twenty-somethings to octogenarians. Lots of stores, restaurants, and scenery all with a very classy feel. The beach is the main attraction, and the water is clear, and cool. The nearly constant breeze and cool water provide relief from the fairly intense sun.Guest review bySmith - 10.0

It is always a joy staying in La Seyne-sur-Mer. Were also like to take the water taxi into the main town which have great shops and choice of many good restaurants. We would recommend it to anyone who has an overnight stop before getting on Corsica Ferriers.Guest review byChristopherUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Great town with a lovely beach, the port was great and there was a lot of activities nearby which we didn’t get to try. An excellent alternative to staying in Saint-Tropez A lot of amusement and water parks and climbing for kids within walking distance. Good restaurants and cafes .Guest review bySandraDenmark - 10.0

A nice town with plenty of bars and restaurants and good beaches. We stayed in a hotel for 2 days and then a villa with all the family for 6 nights. Plenty of places to visit within easy reach if Bandol.Guest review byDavidUnited Kingdom
