- Scored out of 10, guest rating 8.1Very good - What previous guests thought, 771 reviewsThe member of staff we came into contact with was professional and welcoming both as we checked in and at dinner in the restaurant. The food was excellent. We liked the overall easy going nature and ambience of this hotel, located in a lovely town and in our case close to Scrabster Ferry Terminal. It is ideal hotel for a stopover.Guest review byMichaelUnited Kingdom

A poor and unattractive place.
A poor and unattractive place. Most shops were empty and nothing was looked after, except a superb flower garden around a statue in a little square near the hotel. It was difficult to find somewhere nice to eat. Quite depressing environment.Guest review bySimonUnited Kingdom - 8.0
Wick is not a pretty place, but it has plenty of history.
Wick is not a pretty place, but it has plenty of history. It looks tired and shows the decline in modern industry and is often bypassed when development opportunities are on offer. This is particularly so with the main truck road being diverted away from the County town. Still its good to see activity in the harbor associated with 'green technology.' The Norseman - great Sunday Carvery The Trinky and The Old Man of Wick - interesting history Getting Around - best walk it - you miss too much otherwise Use the bus to get around the County of Caithness such as, Sincair Bay, John O' Groats, Mey, Dunnet, Castletown, Thurso, Halkirk and Watten. A we excussion to Dunnet Head is good too. So Wick is interesting and good as a base to visit the rest of Caithness.Guest review byTonyUnited Kingdom - 8.0

The John O'Groats visitor centre has a range of shops and eateries aimed at tourists. The parking fee is £3.50, but you can stay all day. The cafes tend to close early - from 5pm to around 6.30. After that there is only the Seaview Hotel. The centre wasn't as crowded as I thought it might be and we were able to take photos at the iconic sign post. We took a walk along to Duncansby Head. It was too late in the season for nesting birds (no puffins!) but the views were spectacular. (See Wikipedia for more info.)Guest review byJaneFrance - 10.0
Everything surpassed expectations.
Everything surpassed expectations. I had the most peaceful night that I can remember, the facilities were spot on, the views were spectacular and one immediately felt a peacefulness that I can only describe as sublime. The caravan itself was immaculate and I particularly liked the decking which had double doors opening out on to it. The provisions left were outstanding, the layout and size of the rooms made it easy for us of advanced age to navigate , the beds comfortable and the washing and showering facilities very clean and easy to use.Guest review byEdgar - 10.0

The proprietors Euan & Emma were excellent company and very attentive to guests' needs. The hotel had an excellent menu with accompanying wines, beers, spirits, if required. The hotel also had an extensive range of locally-produced spirits. The accommodation was excellent and well-equipped. The only down-side was the lack of TV reception - although being without TV was somewhat of a blessing!Guest review byBrianUnited Kingdom - 10.0
A really lovely hotel.
A really lovely hotel. Food (breakfast and dinner) was amazing (apart from Tart Tatin very soggy pastry). Staff professional, helpful and friendly. Disappointed couldn’t have a cocktail at bar. However, a fab place to stay.Guest review byCatrinaUnited Kingdom - 10.0
