FAQs about hotels in England
The Small Country with Big Appeal
For a relatively small country, England certainly manages to pack in a wealth of tourist attractions, from Land’s End all the way to Berwick-upon-Tweed.
Words can’t do justice to the capital London - an exciting mix of famous sights, royalty and vibrant life. Manchester, Liverpool and Birmingham are fabulous cities that have emerged from their industrial past to be cutting-edge centres of culture.
Newcastle, Leeds and Bristol are well known for their buzzy music scene, while sedate Oxford and Cambridge are famous for their universities and punting. Stately York still maintains its city walls and Windsor has the wonderful castle where the Queen often resides.
Sheffield and Derby border the magnificent Peak District, while the Lake District and Yorkshire Dales are close to Blackpool, one of England’s favourite beach destinations. Other very popular beaches are in Brighton, Eastbourne, Torquay and Scarborough.
With a beautifully rugged coastline, mystical Cornwall has England hotels in the country, as do the Cotswolds where stone houses line picturesque villages. The Georgian spa cities of Bath and Harrogate also have impressive stone architecture.
This is just the tip of the iceberg of what England has to offer, but wherever you visit, you can be sure that Booking.com has a fantastic range of apartments, B&Bs and hotels in England to choose from.

London is a truly remarkable city; vibrant, diverse, and full of life. Every corner has its own charm, from the classic landmarks around Trafalgar Square and Westminster to the modern energy of Oxford Street and Soho. Public transport is excellent and makes it easy to explore, whether by Underground, bus, or even on foot. The city feels safe overall, though like any major city, it’s wise to stay alert in crowded areas. Food options are endless; from authentic South Asian and Middle Eastern restaurants to fine European dining. Shopping is fantastic, especially around Regent Street, Oxford Circus, and Covent Garden. Despite the occasional rain and chill, London’s atmosphere, history, and architecture make every walk enjoyable. London is a city that blends culture, history, and modern life perfectly; a place that always leaves you wanting to come back.Guest review byMohammed Abdul AzeemSaudi Arabia - 10.0
Manchester is an amazing city - for business or pleasure.
Manchester is an amazing city - for business or pleasure. There is a vast selection of restaurants and the shops are fabulous - although not many independent boutiques, all high-street chains. Not a great city for cars, recommend travelling in by train or taxi. Most of the city centre is pedestrianised, which is much safer when walking around. If you're looking for finer dining, head to Spinningfields, or Grand Pacific (stunning restaurant!). If you're on a hen/stag doo, head for Deansgate or Canal Street. If you're partial to Chinese food, head to China Town - there are some amazing restaurants there! If you're looking for an indy/student vibe, head to the Northern Quarter. Manchester has something for everyone!Guest review byDizzyDarlingUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Trip on the Mersey was value for money £12 for 50 minutes on the ferry. Cavern club well worth a visit, you pay £5 to get in , but live music on . Our hotel gave us a map which was very useful. Plenty of eating place covering a wide range of choices. Plenty of well know shops in the centre. Would happily visit again.Guest review byElaineUnited Kingdom - 10.0

I love the city, and keep coming back to it, as I become more and more used to it, and find coffee shops and galleries I like to visit. I wasn't very well at the time - with an incipient asthma problem - but the city helped, and the weather was good, mild and bright. I had a tram ride or two, which are a special pleasure, and it's so reasonably priced and comfortable. The former Exchange in Millennium Square, which is run by the university, was a special favourite for morning coffee.Guest review byJohnUnited Kingdom - 8.0

Visit every year for illuminations and especially world fireworks. Never disappointed. Always visit Umami world restaurant for excellent food at a good price. Again, never disappoints. Usually have a walk in Stanley Park and a nice coffee. This visit to Blackpool was particularly good as we also got really good weather!!!Guest review byGordonUnited Kingdom - 10.0

A vibrant city which is lively and full of interesting places and events. Easy city to navigate on foot so we parked the car in the multi-storey car park next to the hotel. Super convenient and very well managed. The hotel had a river side restaurant which was perfect for a pre show meal and a bar for a coffee later.Guest review byLynneUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Leeds is a city full of culture historic buildings and places and university. The areas near the river are getting more regeneration to make it attractive to locals and tourists. It’s buzzing with young people and night life. There’s a range of galleries and museums ,the library is a must visit . The variety of Restaurants and cafes offer satisfaction to all tastes and ages. I was pleasantly impressed with what Leeds has to offer. And the future is bright for this lovely city.Guest review bySamiaUnited Kingdom - 8.0
The hotel is very clean.
The hotel is very clean. Ensure you book the ground floor if you can't make the stairs, as no lift. The staff were very accommodating in this respect, and I had a ground floor room. I didn't have breakfast as I had to leave early to the airport again. The double glazing is amazing - virtually no noise. Although the walls are a bit thin, so you can hear other guests. Staff were very polite and well trained. Beware that the public transport to Terminals 2 and 3 is non-existent. You can get the Pod (great experience) to Terminal 5, and then the underground to the other terminals at Heathrow. The Taxi services are very good - costing £22.00. So don't worry too much. Altogether I would go here again.Guest review byPaulGibraltar - 10.0
