This hotel is in a great location and the staff are friendly and helpful. Champagne at breakfast is an added bonus and a great way to start the day. It was my husband's birthday and a beautiful birthday balloon and card were in our room for him with a card from the hotel and a complimentary glass of bubbles at the bar. Lovely touch would throughly recommend a stay at this hotel when visiting Edinburgh

The room was great overall! It had a good size and was very clean. The bathroom was the best part however (spacious with big shower). The room had a private garden, but it was cold and rainy during our stay, so unfortunately we couldn't enjoy it. There was an electric kettle, coffee/tea provided, hairdryer. The hotel has a great location and is around 40 min on foot/ 20 min with the bus from the old town. Many small shops and cafes in the areas as well. The cleaning lady was very kind.

We got the tram from the airport, and the stop (waverly) was a 2 min walk to the hotel. The hotel was directly across the road from the Christmas market and within walking distance to all the tours and attractions. The staff were friendly, and we did have one incident, but it was rectified immediately. The food was nice and we would return to stay at the old waverly hotel again and we would recommend a stay here. Our room faced the main street (Prince's Street), but the noise did not bother us, especially being across from the market and the trams, etc it was fine.

Such a great place to stay I'm Edinburgh. So very handy to everything for this first time visitor to Scotland. Even though they were having operational issues with their lift service, the staff were incredibly obliging in helping me with my luggage to and from the apartment and also looked after my belongings while spending my last day in Edinburgh. I shall definitely make sure to book there again on my next visit.

I visited with the intention of attending the Tattoo.

I visited with the intention of attending the Tattoo. I flew in on the morning and went to the tattoo in the early evening. I managed to fit in a walking tour at the Real Mary Kings on Sunday morning and followed this with attending four fringe shows and a lot of city walking. Monday was more leisurely with a train ride to Loch Lomond. There is a lot of Harry Potter type architecture in the old city. Just look up at the skyline Edinburgh was great to walk in with plenty to see and do without the Fringe. Not too expensive to eat and drink with lots of local coffee shops and cafes available serving good food. I found The Cafe on the mound serving home cooked food and barista coffee. Dinner was less than £10. Public transport in and around Edinburgh is brilliant and not too expensive. I didn't wait more than 10 minutes for a bus back to my accommodation. I would love to go back just to explore.

While I found the room itself comfortable and well-presented...

While I found the room itself comfortable and well-presented, unfortunately, the overall experience was significantly impacted by a series of distressing events. During the night, there were repeated electricity outages which triggered alarms multiple times. This culminated in the arrival of firefighters at my room—an unexpected and unsettling experience. To add to the concern, there was no staff present at the reception during this time, which left me feeling quite unsafe and unsupported. To date, I have not received any form of apology, explanation, or gesture of goodwill from your team. I believe a situation like this warrants not only a sincere apology but also a degree of accountability and customer care, especially considering the level of disruption and concern caused.

North Berwick is an adorable seaside town with beautiful scenic views and an amazing golf course. We enjoyed the quaint shops and restaurants as well as hiking the law. Getting around was so simple. We walked everywhere and found it so easy to go back and forth to our accommodations. One word of caution, most places stop serving dinner by 8:00pm. The waterside bistro is a short walk through St Mary's churchyard, which is opposite the hotel, food was delicious, there is a lovely walk along the riverside, and also another pub The Tyneside Tavern which has a great italian style restaurant. Haddington is a lovely picturesque little town, & quite central for visiting North Berwick, and a good distance to get into Edinburgh, where you can park & ride, picking up a tram at The Port of Leith
