Everything about the place is amazing. The location is you're heading too and from the airport. The rooms are immaculate. Plenty of beer and drinks choices for those wanting to unwind. Food menu was excellent and both courses that I ordered came really quickly. There are nearby walks to do which you can lose a few hours on or soak up the nice vibes in the bar. I wish I was aware of this before I arrived.

Very comfortable and in an annex to the pub so quiet in the evening even when the pub is busy. The breakfast was very nice and the staff welcoming. They always asked what time we want breakfast so it was fast and tasty.

Very nice and clean accommodation. Very good breakfast. The pool area was very inviting, unfortunately the weather was bad, so we could not go swimming. With Rory and Jola you can feel how much they like to receive guests. Rory's recommendations for sightseeing in the surrounding area were top. Thank you.

The room was fabulous, excellent for me and my young family. Beautiful finishing touches on the room, and the grounds were beautiful. The staff were so kind and helpful, accommodating us in every way despite being very busy. The food was superb, and a dream for me as a coeliac. Would absolutely recommend and visit again.

The room was very comfortable and everything was better thought out than in any hotel we have stayed at on our trip. The owners have amazing flower pots in their garden, with the most wonderful blooming flowers I have ever seen at a hotel.

Winscombe is the perfect location for a holiday in the Mendips. The very friendly village has shops of every kind ...including a bakery and a butcher.... and the surrounding countryside ...including Mendip Hills in every direction... is stunning. For more local walks, the course of the old railway line, closed in the 1960s, is perfect.

The room was a good sized family room. Bed comfy but the pillows were hard. Difficult to sleep especially for my husband with neck problems. Bathroom good size. It was good to be able to park right outside.

We have stayed here before and it was as good this time as previously. It is an ideal place to stay if you have an afternoon flight the next day from Bristol Airport. We also had lunch here which was very good. The room was pleasant and comfortable although there never seemed to be enough light. The breakfast offered a lot of choice although too much emphasis on sourdough which is not really to our taste. The drinks are very expensive although we were given a complimentary first drink as we were hotel guests. All of the staff were friendly and helpful.

Enjoyed a coffee and cake at the coffee station in the village. Would have loved to stay longer and looked at the lake, eat at the local pub and explored the general area more. Beautiful scenery and we were so fortunate with the weather too.

One of the highlights of our time in the UK...this was historic, bucolic, charming, and memorable. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a comfortable and special place with endless miles of walking trails from the property and cozy pubs just up the street. Book it, you won't regret it.

We booked this hotel as we were attending a wedding in Clifton and visiting my family located in Street, so this was a great halfway option. Most important for us was the need to have an accessible room for my elderly mother and me as well as an adjoining room for my partner as he needed to be close by in case Mum fell. This is not an easy feat! The original rooms I had booked were not suitable as the hotel rooms are located on different levels. However, the hotel contacted me straight away to advise that we had been moved to different rooms situated on the ground floor with disabled access and parking as well as easy access to both the room and the restaurant/bar facilities. This room also had the additional benefit of a sofa bed for me so I didn't have to share the bed with my mum (although it was huge!) and an adjoining room perfect for us. The room was large, and the bathroom was utterly accessible as described. It had everything we needed for the 2-night stay. We also used the restaurant for breakfast and dinner, as well as the bar, and it was excellent. The hotel is lovely and in a very beautiful location. The staff was incredibly helpful and friendly at all times, and we could not fault anything.

This was a stop over on the way to Cornwall to see Cheddar Gorge. the food was great, rooms clean tidy and air conditioned. It is perfectly situated for visiting local sites. The vie from the hotel is amazing especially if the weather is nice and you can take advantage of eating outside.
