Lovely place with clean, comfortable and modern facilities while staying true to it's history. Staff were amazing and could not be more helpful. Bar and restaurant facilities were 1st class.

A great hotel, nice and close to the ferry terminal. A lovely,friendly welcome. The hotel is immaculate and everythingis beautifully presented. The room was a great size with good ensuite facilities. We had a lovely freshly cooked breakfast and the waiting staff were happy and friendly.We would definitely recommend this hotel.

I loved everything! The staff were so welcoming and friendly, the room was super comfy and clean, great power shower and so handy having a fridge. Free parking outside the hotel and a fantastic location for visiting places in South and North Harris

We had a very nice stay for two nights at Royal Hotel! When calling the receptionist and telling that we would arrive late she arranged with the staff in the restaurant so they stayed overtime to serve a delicious meal. The restaurant served us very good cooked breakfasts as well as dinners. The housekeeper Bertie was very helpful taking care of our laundry. Polochar Inn is on the southern tip of South Uist the view from the property is stunning. 360deg with Eriskay to the east, Barra across the sound to the south and North America just out of view across the horizon. 😎 The food was excellent in the morning for breakfast served in the panoramic restaurant with these fantastic views.😋😎 The staff were great, chatty and quick to fix up our room which had been set as a twin instead of a double. I would highly recommend this hotel to stay in or even just to go for a drink as the sun goes down with the waves lapping the rocks right in front of the entrances, there can't be many places with this kind of views😎👍👍👍
