The breakfast was excellent, and being able to go out and eat outdoors was lovely. The ceilings were high and beautifully painted in the common area. Best of all was the woman who greeted us when we arrived and gave us her lovely smile every morning afterward. She was amazingly helpful!

The location of the hotel is ideal, a couple of minutes’ walk to the Camara and the center of Chora as well which makes exploring of the area really convenient. Everything you need is just a short walk away .The absence of vehicles is a unique characteristic of that part of Chora , allowing the uninterrupted connection with the serene sounds of the sea while is super safe for kids to wander around freely. The hotel offered a delicious breakfast made of local products and truly attentive service! The room was immaculately clean and incredibly comfortable. I appreciated the modern amenities, such as the large flat-screen TV, complimentary Wi-Fi, and a very comfy bed that made unwinding after a long day easy. The view from my window was stunning, just above the sea. The staff was friendly and accommodating, went above and beyond to provide recommendations for local dining and attractions, and housekeeping was prompt and efficient. I highly recommend it for anyone visiting the area. Whether it's for business or leisure, this hotel has everything you need for a comfortable , enjoyable and unforgettable stay. I’m looking forward to returning!

We were here over the Greek Easter holiday weekend and had a wonderful time. The lovely town of Chora was within walking distance, as were its beaches and very nice restaurants and shops. Our host was very responsive and accommodating, and the apartment itself was just a pictured, with a beautiful view, very comfy bed and furniture, nice hot shower! We would love to stay here again.

We liked everything but mostly the view from the balcony. We’ve booked studio with sea view and the appartment was brilliant for us. Good kitchen, inside and outside space to eat and relax. 2 balconies with plenty of shade and sunshine to choose from. Yes you need to read the description because the bedroom ans one of the balconies is upstairs but it was not a problem for us.

FAQs about hotels in Andros

A Perfect Combination of Culture and Fun

A favoured weekend destination, the island of Andros is only an hour and a half away from Athens. Named after Andros, a hero descending from the line of God Apollo, this beautiful island features traditional villages, golden beaches, high mountains, small rivers and green valleys.

Featuring great nautical tradition and home to famous Greek sailors, Andros is not similar with any other island in the Cyclades. This small paradise is a great cultural destination thanks to its many museums and their unique collections of paintings, sculptures and archaeological exhibits.

The lovely Chora is the capital of Andros and one of the most popular villages of the island. Wander around the narrow alleys, admire the Neoclassical and Venetian-style houses, and admire the beautiful stone bridge.

Rich in history, the island has several towers including the tower of Ayios Petros and Fryktoria. Built by Venetians, the Pano Kastro was the largest city in Andros during the Middle Ages.

Built over a gorgeous natural harbour, the resort of Batsi has a sandy beach, shallow waters and nice taverns serving local specialties. Booking.com has a great selection of hotels, apartments and guest houses in the magnificent Batsi.

We loved the location. It is a very pretty port that is very walkable with multiple dining options. The hotel is beach front with many free loungers for their guests. The deluxe ocean front room is worth it. The entire staff is polite and give exceptional service, especially front desk and Alexia. There is a pool and a very nice breakfast is included. We really enjoyed sitting on our balcony and enjoying the view and swimming in the ocean.

Everything was absolutely wonderful! 😁 The room was very clean, and the staff always had a smile on their faces and were ready to help with anything we needed — from giving us tips on where to go, to providing anything extra we might need in the room. Great location, and the cherry on top was the amazing pool and the relaxation it offered. I definitely recommend it and will visit it again.

Good value of room with private bathroom and breakfast. A short walk to a simple beautiful beach. In June to September the heat can be too much for the elderly 70+. Stay under a shade. Best restaurants are in nearby Gavrio and Batsi. The cafe around the corner has delicious tyropita and spanakopita.

Very green island, doesn't look like the other Cyclades islands. You need a car to wonder around the island and visit many towns and villages. It has many trails and beautiful natural locations such as waterfalls, stone bridges and paths in the mountains for those who love such adventures, but the roads to reach them are narrow and dirt roads, so you better have an suv or 4x4 car. Batsi and Andros Chora are beautiful little towns. You should walk by the small port in Batsi and enjoy a coctail watching a beautiful sunset, and wonder around the alleys of Chora, admire the traditional manor houses and visit the nautical museum and learn the nautical history of the island.

We were there in May so not quite season. It’s very small but served as a good base to visit the island. Some good tavernas. Bit nothing else to do there. Not a beach nearby that is nice for swimming or tanning so would probably recommend Batsi over Gavrio.

Batsi is a charming seaside village with lovely views of harbour. I would recommend 2 nights as there is not much to do unless you are happy to spend the whole day on beach and eating at restaurants. October is end of season so most of shops and restaurants are closed on the island. We took a bus to Cora on the first day which was very scenic and the town (capital) is worth a visit.

This is an ideal place if you don't like to be in the capital city with a lot of noise and traffic. You are far enough from the street and have your own peace and quiet, and at the same time you are very close to the city where there is entertainment and an active nightlife. Everything you need is in the area, restaurants, shops, beaches etc

This destination is delightful, offering a wide array of culinary options. The local cheeses are exceptional, and you'll discover restaurants that cater to both casual diners and those seeking a more upscale experience. The ambiance is tranquil, making it an ideal retreat. Renting a car is advisable to fully explore the island’s beauty. While September may be slightly cooler, it also offers a more serene atmosphere.

We lived near Batsi for 31 years.

We lived near Batsi for 31 years. It is a lovely little village with some very good tavernas and cafes, although there are now far too many cocktail bars. Andros island is lovely with excellent beaches and hiking trails but avoid August when the island almost sinks under the weight of thousands of visitors, mainly from Athens. Generally speaking, the island has managed to remain unspoilt by excessive tourism. The local people are very friendly and welcoming.

Agios Pertos is perfectly situated close to the main port but also in a quiet location. The local beach is lovely, sandy with clear waters. There is a local bakery but no mini-market. There are 3 local restaurants, a pizza place (run by a Canadian Greek) that makes amazing greek salads, a tasty souvlaki place and Giannoulis, the best fish taverna that we visited (of course it also serves meat and vegetarian dishes).

Not a hospitable island!

Not a hospitable island! Third class and expensive facilities. Most of the locals are rude and it seems that they do not like visitors! If you want to visit Greece there are at least 100 beautiful islands and places to visit . This was the worst experience that I had in Greece and I feel ashamed that these guys claim to be Greeks Greeks are very friendly people ! Most of the islands even if they are small offer very good facilities! Do not waste your money and time in Andros . Concluding I would like to mention that I was very Impressed by the “Skalakia “ restaurant in chora! Excellent food and service. Mrs Maria was extremely friendly and professional. Make sure you reserve a table ahead of time.

Gavrion (Gavrio) is a main ferry port in Andros, but it is not too busy to compare with other Greek ports. It has a charming laid back atmosphere although sometimes (when the ferry comes) might seem busy and chaotic and when there is no ferry - a bit boring. It has everything what an undemanding tourist might need - 2 bakeries, 1 big and 2 or 3 small supermarkets, few tavernas, 2 car rentals. It is a good choice for the base if you want to travel around the island and you have a car. It doesn't have a big beach, but it is free from the hustle of Batsi.
