From the staff at reception, servers at breakfast/dinner to the cleaning ladies, everyone is super hospitable. Genuinely one of the most hospitable places i have ever stayed! A lot of reviews say that the food is good and i can confirm this with a resounding yes. The food and drinks here are of a different level. We had booked an half board. Breakfast has a big variety of products and dinner was fantastic every evening. As a result, we did not eat out of the resort a single evening... Rooms are clean and well maintained. (towels and linen get's refreshed every day) Each room has its own access to the (shared) swimming pool. We were lucky enough to have been upgraded to a suite with a private pool, but the entire resort is a fantastic place to stay. I can write much more, but everything is perfect here from A to Z. If you're looking for a place you can stop, drop, and do nothing for a few days to a week, this is perfect. We didn't need to leave the hotel at all - the rooms, pool, beach, everything, was better than expected. The staff are so helpful and friendly, they really made our stay there 10/10. I booked in for a massage in the spa which was exceptional, and the gym facilities are small but very new and modern. You can even book the gym out completely so you have the entire space to yourself. We don't have kids yet but there were many children there kept entertained at the kids club. When we do have children, I would 100% come back to Thalatta as I know they'll have a fun experience too! The breakfast is also outstanding. The town was buzzing and full of life. Some excellent restaurants (peskesi a stand out) Beaches were stunning especially when blessed with perfect summer weather. You have to be prepared for what is a very hilly town. The worse times are when the cruise ships arrive, that’s when it’s worth visiting other parts of Santorini. I traveled with my daughter & grandson from the US to London for a couple of days, then flew to Athens for a cruise leaving the next day. We made our way out of Athens to stay at the cruise port. We were exhausted but our time at the Seaside Hotel was a wonderful reprieve. It was charming, everyone so friendly and accommodating. Amazing Resort and extensive facilities on site. Staff are amazing. Also one of the best mani/pedi I ever had at the salon. Resort is about 30 minutes from airport, and would say for a 5* Europe resort, this lives up to expectation, but don't compare to a 5* Caribbean or Mexico Resort, so bear that in mind. We stayed at the Ocean view room which had spectacular views. The Rocky beach was just fantastic with the lounges and beds, and considering how busy this resort is, never noticed it and never felt overcrowded, and you never had to reserve benches or lounges by the beach or pool, there was more than enough to go round and even more spare. A la Carte restaurants that were amazing and my favourites are Umi (Sushi), Azzuro (Italian), Thalassa for breakfast & lunch, Poseidon. A real let down of the restaurants was Nami, only delicious items were the Starters. I notified the hotel before 3pm on the arrival day that we could not arrive on the island & wished to cancel that night. Reth is our favourite holiday town.
Reth is our favourite holiday town. We like a bustly town for 2 weeks and this is just right. Lots of restaurants, bars, cafes, shops, so plenty to do. We like the fact that it is not a loud party town. The beach is fantastic with each restaurant having their own section of sunbeds - we used Gorgona beach / restaurant - 2 sunbeds and umbrella is 12 euros which is remarkably cheap when we were paying 25 euros at least in Spain and Portugal. You can bring your own food and drink there but can also have beach service or eat in the restaurant, so nice to have the freedom. There is a wonderful supermarket next to the restaurant which sells english papers, magazines, pots of fresh fruit, sandwiches, plus everything else you might need. There is also a wonderful supermarket further along called Fresh Corner which has a good selection of cakes, sandwiches, pizza, fresh juices etc which you can take down to the beach. The sea is very shallow and sandy - it can be a bit windy some days and then the waves are quite big and powerful but ususally the sea is very flat and calm. The open top bus tour is good - 20 euros each but you can hop and off all day and visits the various sites around the town. It takes 90 mins to do the whole route without getting off. The dotto train is fun - 10 euros each - takes 45 mins. The castle is a good place to visit. There is a market twice a week Thursday and Saturday. Thursday it is up by the park on the main road, Sat it is next to the bus station. Its quite small considering the size of the town but has a mix of fruit, veg, clothes etc. There are lots of boat trips you can book. I mostly stayed near Kos Town and walked everywhere, averaging about 40k steps a day. I highly recommend learning to ride a bike or, even better, a motorcycle. Renting a car is a good choice, but parking can be tricky.Guest review byGirayTurkey
