Staying at Spongia was heavenly! You definitely get the best view of the port at Kalymnos in the whole city. The owner and staff are absolutely amazing. They treated us almost like family and helped us out on many occasions. I always look forward to returning back to Spongia and chilling by the balcony of our room - it's the best place to be in the whole port! I can't wait to be back.

This is the first time ever that we go back to a hotel - beacause it so worth it. The staff is great and pay great attention to you as a guest. Eg you are served cold water as soon as you lay down on the sunbed. The hotel's food is really good and that is quite unique for a hotel from my point of view. Even if it's a smaller hotell it never feels crowded, lots of space in the pool and sunbeds. There is a sunbed for everyone. The hotell also gives you a familiar feeling as you chat with both managment and owner during the day. Highly recommended!

I made a reservation for my parents. They visited Kalymnos and returned with wonderful impressions. Even without being there myself, I knew everything, thanks to the team behind the hotel and especially the amazing and helpful Vallia, the unsung hero, who explains exactly what you will encounter and how to find it. You know where you’re going and who you will meet. Vallia ensures the smooth arrival of every guest. Then, you are welcomed by Mr. George, an excellent host who greets you kindly and takes great care of you. We share beautiful stories, and upon leaving, he offers a special gift something truly local. We won’t say what it is. Let it be a surprise. Finally We had a small issue and Valia called us with the solution right away. Impressive immediacy. 10/10

    Kalymnos is a true authentic Greek Island experience without overcrowding from foreign tourists. We stayed at the Port where there are lots of options for authentic Greek cuisine and rented a car so we could explore the island and beaches. The Port is a true working port. Not just a tourist port. We are tired of overcrowded tourist spots. We felt like we were living as a local and the Yatrissa apartment was very spacious and convenient. Especially compared to all our other accommodations. Our host Anna was excellent and very helpful. She had some treats for us on arrival which was very much appreciated. The apartment had all the amenities we required.

    Small, friendly, has everything you need: lovely beach, wonderful views, great shops and restaurants. The people are very friendly and helpful. You can hire a boat, take a ferry to Telendos where you can go for a walk, watch a sunset and go for a great meal.

    The relatively quiet and friendly location with lovely views, very Greek island with narrow roads and very friendly people. The exception being at certain times of the day motor scooters are buzzing through the narrow roads but this was not a problem for us.

    Panormos is a good place to stay when you visit Kalymnos...

    Panormos is a good place to stay when you visit Kalymnos island because of its location (close to the port, Kalymnos capital, museums, sightseeing and to beaches and restaurants on the other hand). The problem with all of the island is that there are nowhere sidewalks and streets are so narrow that if two cars meet one of them should back off , because there is not enough space for both of them (!!!!) and pedestrians are in a real danger .

    Super Value for money. If you travel with kids, go here. It's clean, the host is friendy and provides fresh fruit to the room after cleaning every day (fresh towels every day). Right next door to the best family beach in Kalymnos.

    We loved our 10-day stay on Kalymnos.

    We loved our 10-day stay on Kalymnos. It offers a true Greek spirit without being overly touristy. Highlights include: Charming small streets and beautiful architecture in the main town. Interesting and scenic beaches. Fantastic food and great espresso everywhere. A wonderful, rustic atmosphere. One important heads-up: be prepared for very loud dynamite explosions during local wedding celebrations. The noise is frightening and unexpected, but it is a local tradition. It was the only downside to an otherwise perfect trip. Highly recommended for travelers seeking an authentic experience.

    Great place to rock climb better later in the year to avoid the crowds. I was based in Masouri and teamed up with other Canadian climbers. Restaurants all good and reasonable prices. I prefer a cooked breakfast on climbing days so very good at the Ambience. Some of the newer climbing areas are less polished than the older areas but the rock can be very sharp. As people are concentrated in Masouri the social scene is preferable compared to Leonidio, and the climbing just as good in both locations. A car is needed in Leonidio but not so much in Kalymnos. Telendos has great climbing too as well as some spectacular multi-pitch routes.

    i ll write some comments for the whole island not only...

    i ll write some comments for the whole island not only myrties. myrties is the main tourist spot on the island. lots of restaurants (we ate twice at la kambusa italian restaurant and the food was really good. try the pasta-excellent). there is a small harbor and within 3 minutes a boat can take you to island telendos (really cheap 3 euros going-2 coming back). we fell in love with emporeios village at the northern part of the island. quite beaches only you and ... goats from local farmers, nice restaurants (ate both at kyma & dreamcatcher). paid no more than 20euros per person. other beaches we enjoyed was platys gyalos semi organised but cheap for beverages-coffee. dont miss the daily trip to pserimos, fantastic beach plus every 3 hours or so tourist ships/pirate ships arrive with loads of tourists. for a while. then again .... peace. visit kalymnos you ll be amazed. explore greece beyond the obvious.

    I was on a climbing holiday and it was much more peaceful than Masouri, if that is what you like. Meeting friends in Masouri in the evening was awkward because of travel and drink driving. However, I did drink less as a result and probably felt better.

    Emporios is great if you like beautiful and quiet places.

    Emporios is great if you like beautiful and quiet places. It is literally at the end of the road in Kalymnos so very little car or scooter traffic. Lots of restaurants to choose from, a mini mart, a small farm for fresh ingredients and a beautiful beach.
