We were so impressed by the staff, who were exceptional - so friendly and we got to know each of them by first name. The pool area was quiet and had a wonderful view of the sea. We did not have our own car/bike on Patmos but 9 Muses is a short taxi ride to Skala (port) and other attractions - this was fine but worth factoring into your plans if you don't have your own transportation. He told us how to get around the island and gave good tips for restaurants etc. The property has lots of flowering trees and is surrounded by vegetable- and fruit-growing areas and chickens. Skala has a lovely central area with restaurants and shops, and is pleasant to wander around. It is convenient so close to the ferry port. It was easy to hire a car and there were large public parking areas. You need one if you wish to visit beaches. Psili Ammos in the south is worth the half hour hike in for its fabulous sandy beach with a good taverna. But there were no beaches within walking distance of Skala. St John’s monastery is certainly worth the visit. We jumped on a ferry to Lipsi island for a great day trip.Guest review byJanAustralia - 8.0

Chora lovely - Loza is one of the best restaurants we have ever experienced in Greece - amazing tastes, and views . Petra Beach is fantastic! Skala is delightful, but Patmos overall is incredible. We visited the beautiful village of Chora, the monastery of St John, the windmills, and the spiritual cave of the Apocolypse, where John wrote the book of Revelation in the Bible. All was achieved in one day by taxi from Skala. The entire trip was from the island of Kos by ferry, with a 2 night stay in Skala. Well worth it. Wonderful !! Beautiful nature.
Beautiful nature. Not too busy. did a amazing day’of sailing with an old sailboat, corinne is highly recommended. hora is a unique medieval city. A bit weird and amazing at the same time. Hlia house was a super rental on campos beach. Food is rather average. Aside from 1 resto in the old town. The car rental autounion is a rip off. Patmos is difficult to get to. From Athens it took us 9 hours, a flight, a ferry, a car and 2 taxis.Guest review byJlBelgium
