FAQs about hotels in Pelion
A Four Season Paradise
Green mountains, long sandy beaches, traditional villages and snowy slopes characterise the beautiful region of Pelion. The mythological land of the Centaur, Mount Pelion is full of hiking trails, springs, gorges and streams.
During winter you can visit the ski resort of Agriolefkes, which has 4 slopes and ski lifts in constant operation. Situated to the northern side of Pelion, Pelion Ski Resort offers stunning views of the Aegean Sea.
During summer, you can relax on the crystal clear beaches on the east coast and southern part of the peninsula. Milopotamos beach is surrounded by a picturesque landscape with large rocks and greenery, while the long sandy beach of Horefto has deep blue waters and several facilities for swimmers.
A perfect combination of mountain and sea, Pelion has around 24 villages including Makrinitsa, Portaria, Tsagarada, Zagora, Chorefto and Afissos. All villages have traditional houses with thick stone walls, tiny windows and roofs covered with grey slate. Most of the houses are decorated with fine artwork, carpets and antiques. Booking.com will help you find several traditional houses that operate as hotels.

A trip to the east coast of the peninsula is a must, thanks to passing and parking in beautiful villages built on the sides of the mountains, the road is in very good condition with twists and clear signage. A cruise along the remote beaches of the island with caves and refreshing swimming. The restaurant, whose name I don't remember from the caves, serves tourists and therefore charges an exorbitant price for a small fish and very poor and rather dismissive service.Guest review byshoshaiIsrael - 10.0

Lovely beachfront with great restaurants - with the backdrop of green forested mountains. Beautiful, but you also need to hire a vehicle to get around the mountain passes to other picture perfect beaches like Milopotamos or Ntamouchari.Guest review byGarySouth Africa - 10.0

Very beautiful traditional Greek mountain village with small shops (local products) and few restaurants. Difficult to find parking in the center of the village, one public parking but it's very small. Easy to make road trips around Pelion area - go around if you have a car, this is one of the most beautiful regions in Greece (also in summer, not only winter). Some part of the roads (in Pelion area, not in Portaria) were destroyed in winter 2024 during storms. Unfortunately, they were still destroyed in July 2024. You can go around by car, roads are not closed, but needs a bit attention in many places and wouldn't recommend to drive at night (dark). Time from Portaria to beach (Agios Ioannis, Papa Nero) took from us abt 40 min so take your time. To Village "Kala Nera" (nice beach, long with plenty of place in July) a bit less.Guest review byPIALIISAGreece - 10.0

The village may look small, but it has everything you need – supermarkets, souvenir shops, cozy restaurants and cafés, a bakery, a children’s playground, and a newly renovated church. From here, you can enjoy a walk along the promenade to Kato Gatzea or Koropi. A short 10-minute drive takes you up into the mountains to the beautiful villages of Vizitsa and Milies. In the other direction, you can visit the Voliotis family olive mill or head to Ano Lechonia to catch the little train for a picturesque ride through the mountains.Guest review byIvan TsolovBulgaria - 10.0
It is a nice place.
It is a nice place. A bit far and not so easy to reach, but definitely worth of visiting. There is a long public beach of about 2 km of length and a nudist beach (Parisena's) of about 400 meters, so there is a place for everyone. The restaurants are good, but tricky: the waiters are bringing you unwanted stuff like bottled water, bread, which aren't included into the price of the meal you order and the bills are not detailed, so you have the feeling of being cheated. Chorefto is nice for long evening walks, and you also have hiking trails alongside the sea. There's a lot of stray dogs, cats and mosquitoes (so take a repellent with you!).Guest review byM.Serbia - 10.0

Tsagarada is a charming village, renowned for its extraordinary natural beauty and unique setting. Settled in the heart of a chestnut forest, it attracts many visitors during the summertime who come to enjoy its peaceful atmosphere, breathtaking views and offering of an excellent traditional cuisine deeply rooted in the Pelion region’s rich culinary heritage. Founded in 1500, Tsagarada is composed of four picturesque settlements, each centered around beautifully restored old churches: Taxiarches, Agia Paraskevi, Agia Kyriaki, and Agios Stephanos. These churches are notable for their exquisite wooden carved iconostases. Tsagarada offers a perfect blend of nature, history, and tradition, making it a truly unforgettable destination.Guest review byTihomir NikolovskiNorth Macedonia - 10.0

A wonderful location, only 20 min from the city of Volos, with plenrty of tradirtional small stores selling local tea, woodcraft and sweets, very nice (spicy) food, and very nice narrow passages for walking tours.Guest review byJohn & HGreece - 8.0
Small village who keeps the traditional architecture .
Small village who keeps the traditional architecture . All new houses are builded with same structure. Has downtown and hill position. There is inly one market and one mini market, and one souvenir shop. But there are many restaurant and caffe shops, so you can enjoy in greek food. The bigest problem in Affissos is parking , and very rare any accommodation to have parking place. All the cars are parked even on the street ( and the street is very narrow) even on the beach waht is immediately after the vilage. Access to the sea from my accommodation was just 50 m. You can swim there if you want, but if you want to go on beach than you should walk for not more than 10 min, about 300-400 m to the Abovos beach.near by there are two more beach, but on the others the problem is parking. On Abovos you have enough parking all day. The water is warm and calm all day.Guest review byGordanaNorth Macedonia - 10.0

We visited Mouresi in April when it was in full spring bloom and was low season as the high season is summer when people come to enjoy the beach. We were there to walk the ancient paths that criss-cross the peninsula between villages that date from centuries of use by the people that have lived there. It is a quaint rural area of Greece! There is not a lot of cultural sightseeing...just quaint villages and windy hairpin turn roads with the ocean and beaches, making for a laid-back vacation. We were there to hike but it would be too hot in the summer.Guest review byKayUnited States - 8.0

A small sea side village with sea front tavernas, a small supermarket that sold fresh bread and pasties daily as well as fruit & veg. A cafe near by, a place to hire canoes & SUP. The village is en route for the traveling veg & fruit trucks. Water is translucent and the bay is sheltered.Guest review byRebeccaUnited Kingdom
