- From US$127.01 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.0Superb - What previous guests thought, 287 reviewsThe grounds of this hotel are spectacular! It is right by the dock, so it is easy to walk to the property. The restaurant is very reasonably priced, considering that there are not a lot of options for dining (we were on foot). The food is exceptional, and plenty of it comes from their organic garden, of which we had a lovely tour. The hotel website offers full details of how community minded and eco-friendly this business is. The pool looks odd because it is dark. However, I imagine it helps heat the water, along with the solar panels. If you are looking for a couple of days in paradise, this is the place. And the view from the restaurant 🤩Guest review byMarionCanada
- From US$84.67 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.0Superb - What previous guests thought, 459 reviewsLovely lodge near Santa Cruz, the Transportation from the dock to the lodge worked flawless. The staff is very friendly, helpful and fast (thanks again to Viandy, who did an amazing job and also booked for us the transportation from Gua city to the dock and back). We also enjoyed the free SUPs and Kayak. The vegan restaurant was amazing. We had the Thanksgiving dinner and some breakfasts and they tasted delicious. All in all it's an amazing location, very quiet and we really enjoyed it.Guest review byAlexandraAustria
- From US$398.27 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.0Superb - What previous guests thought, 139 reviewsThe property was without doubt one of the most aesthetically considered hotels we’ve been to. The decor (from the artwork to the furniture to the cutlery) was beautiful and incredibly detail oriented, with a local Guatemala / Mayan theme. The setting was even better, with great views over the lake and nicely nestled into the hills. The staff were fantastic and couldn’t do enough for you. Definitely visit Casa Palopo if you’re visiting Atitlan.Guest review byAlexanderUnited Kingdom

From the staff, to the grounds, to the food and the service, this hotel was the most wonderful place. My fiancée asked me to marry him there and there genuinely would not have been a more special surrounding. Astrid was also amazing as were all the staff we interacted with. Thank you for an amazing stay!Guest review byClaudiaUnited Kingdom

Pana is a bustling friendly town with lots of shops, cafes and restaurants as well as accomodation to suit all budgets. It is also a transportation hub for getting around Guatemala. The old part of the town (Jucanyá) is worth a visit for its lake front and views. Pana has a great market too. You can travel to other parts of the lake easily from the main dock. Tuks tuks can transport you around the town quite cheaply. I recommend Circus Bar for great pizza and lunches/dinners. The main town can be a bit noisy, so choose your accomodation carefully or bring ear plugs.Guest review byJoUnited Kingdom - 10.0

We enjoyed San Pedro. it was picturesque with the beautiful lake and mountains. It was walkable, also easy to get a TukTuk. If you walk up the hill into the village, you get past the tourist streets and see local life. There are plenty of restaurants and shops. Many of the restaurants had seating that looked out over the lake. The souvenir market sellers are not pushy. We went to a Mayan museum, Tzunun' Ya'. It was informative about the formation of the lake and the traditional life of the Mayan people. We didn't see sandy beach areas to throw out a blanket and sit by the lake.Guest review bySusanUnited States - 10.0

It's a very unique place, it's safe, peaceful compared to other lakefront communities. Food choices galore, especially for Vegans and Vegetarians. Most people living in the area are very concerned spiritually and organically. Chocolate and Coffee are to die for!Guest review byDavidCosta Rica - 10.0

We were a group of six over 55's off on a great adventure. San Juan la laguna gave us so many things to do and see. we hired a local guide to talk to us about the spectacular murals and artist in town. we hiked the mirador. toured a honey farm. enjoyed serval meals. One that stands out was the Cafe Alma De Colores. it promotes social inclusion of people with disabilities. they also have a wonderful gift shop, with handcrafted items that support this population. visiting the street of sombras and the steert of umberellas. Lovely community . friendly warm and welcoming.Guest review bySherlock - 10.0

The town is up a steep hill so be prepared for some exercise or take a tuk tuk! Gorgeous views! Take a cooking class there like we did! Laid back town, not a lot to do or many restaurants, but a more authentic town that supports its Mayan locals with local wares and cuisines.Guest review byStaceyUnited States - 8.0
The market is fabulous for fibery things.
The market is fabulous for fibery things. Backstrap looms, cotton weaving yarn, and finished yardage and garments. NOT touristy, hard to find coffee before ten a.m., and very little English-speaking. It's a noisy and bustling center for locals (rural Mayans). The shops and the market are a bonanza if you are a fiber tourist. If you're looking for an idyllic green and quiet oasis on the lake, you need to look to the outskirts of town, or hop on a ferry to one the many smaller, more tourist oriented communitiesGuest review byLynUnited States - 10.0

Perfect location for a peaceful stay at Atitlan Lake. You can take the public boat service if you want to take a walk, food and bars. If you really want to rest, far from crowdy tourist and noise, then Tzununa for sure.Guest review byJUANGuatemala - 8.0

This is the main hub on Lake Atitlan, with all the pros and cons that come with that. There is a great viewpoint on the lake and a few fully stocked grocery stores. If you are spending any significant time at the lake it is likely that you will make multiple stops here for supplies. The main street, Calle Santander has a good selection of restaurants, and there are handicraft shops scattered all around. A good hub - there are better sights around the lake, but this is where the most things are conveniently concentrated.Guest review byGregoryUnited States - 10.0

EquiRoast on 1A Calle close to the water opens not only at about 6:30/7 am but also has Caleb , the owner , who will offer a mind boggling amount of ways to make your coffee and also has nice , bitter DARK ROAST coffee ! Do not miss it !! It is important to know that the tuktuks only take you to the next town where you have to change to get to the next and then change tuktuk there againGuest review byUlfUnited States - 10.0
