Fish at the restaurant was good and the pour a great pint of Guiness.
Location is great to see the Black Fort and it’s only a short walk to the port. Minibus tours can be booked at reception and you’ll be picked up at the hotel.

The host is super reactive and made the stay completely hassle free. I love staying near Kilmurvey to experience the real quiet of island life and this was perfect. Absolutely would stay here again!

PolandI had an unforgettable stay on Inis Mór, largely thanks to choosing Port Aran House, hosted by the wonderful Kevin and Sokha. The house has a quiet, warm magic to it - beautiful in design, perfectly kept, and instantly comforting.
Port Aran House is ideally located: with easy access to the bars and shops, yet just tucked away enough to offer that rare, raw connection to the island's spirit and rhythm.
My room had everything I needed, but the true highlight was the ocean view from my window.
The breakfast buffet was a perfect ten - and it also became the stage for Kevin’s morning chats with guests, where he asked thoughtful questions, offered tailored recommendations, and shared stories about life on the island.
All of the above and more is what makes this place not just accommodation, but a home - set in the paradise-like surroundings of Inis Mór.
My intuition is never mistaken, and I have a strong feeling I’ll be coming back...

Such a beautiful island.
Such a beautiful island. Peace, nature, wildlife, beautiful hand knitted aran jumpers in the shops, good food and friendly local people. There are horses and carts that will take you round the island. What a way to travel! Loved my time there.Guest review byJacquelineSlovenia - 8.0

Excellent property and fantastic hosts. Great communication when I had an email query. Lovely extras like milk and bread in the fridge when we arrived. Absolutely spotless property and very well equipped. The bathrooms were lovely and there was plenty hot water. Lots of space, it's a huge house! Plenty entertaining space. Pub food is about the only option, it’s a little elevated at the Hotel. We took the hop on bus, only two stops, not a tour - the driver didn’t say much. The island is absolutely isolated.

Outside the town is more interesting than inside.
Outside the town is more interesting than inside. But avoid the minibus tours. Our driver, John, spent five frickin' hours driving around trying to find more passengers, during which time he showed us only two of the sights. He also spent some of the time essentially providing a taxi service, and treated his taxi customers with much more consideration than his tour passengers. There is lots to see and do on the island.
There is lots to see and do on the island. Lots of history and prehistoric monuments. If you are into live music, there's no shortage of that. The Islanders we met were kind and welcoming. We have dietary restrictions, but we're still able to find decent food to eat.
