Staff were welcoming and friendly - when I arrived the restaurant had closed for the night but they offered to get me food from the kitchen, which was appreciated. The food was very good, particularly if you like seafood - the fish pie was very tasty. The room was clean and comfortable and had a small balcony. The hotel is a couple of minutes' walk from the harbour at the end of the village street.

Great location, lovely room and fantastic food. We had a 6 month old with us who was being very fussy at dinner, the staff were so accommodating and gave us a private area away from other guests to spare our embarrassment and give us privacy to feed him. The hotel was extremely family friendly.

We stayed at this hotel because we were looking for a 4 starts hotel near the cliffs, it wasn't easy because most places are 3 stars and less. The hotel is charming, run by a family who really cares about details and guests. Everything was comfortable, the stay was extremely nice, and since the coast of the Ocean is definitely worth visiting, we hit the tide and huge waves of the Atlantic, it was an almost epic experience! A place extremely worth visiting. Very nice stay.

The people running this hotel were extremely friendly and helpful. The room was large and perfectly clean. We wanted for nothing and would have stayed longer if our trip allowed. The location was very convenient to access multiple tourist attractions, and the accommodation had a car park for free which made it very easy to get around

If you want to feel real Ireland you should come in Doolin and this place is ideal for an overnight stay. This place is the best if you want to have a peaceful quiet holiday. Small village 5 minutes by car from the cliffs. Perfect for family or group of friends. Now I'm in love with there local Doolin's beer. Tasty food in a hotel's restaurant. Thanks to all people who worked in this hotel and houses, you make our trip unforgettable.

The staff were all so friendly and informative with all their answers to our many questions. The room was spacious, comfy and the shower was fantastic! We were blown away by the amazing gourmet breakfast. Firstly a whole stack tray of treats such as a blueberry smoothie, yogurt and fruit, scones and health bread, and jams. Then a choice of several gourmet hot dishes. All in all exceptional.

Charming little town with quick access to the Aran Islands and the Cliffs of Moher. The pubs in town pride themselves on showcasing traditional Irish music and nobody does it better... and may I say the Irish Stew at McDermotts Pub is AMAZING! Add the Doolin Caves to the mix and this Irish town is a Winner!!!

Difficult to find.

Difficult to find. No silage on the road leading to the house no sign outside the house. No light outside the door for a guest coming in at night. Used my phone light to unlock door. Owner's room upstairs bathroom was between the rooms. No privacy! Breakfast was small. Tea made from a teabag in a cup. No teapot..No cereals left out. For the money paid it was very poor. Host imposing one doesn't feel comfortable eating!!..

The overall village look was lovely....but some of the pub standards were very poor and run down....I know this can add to a traditional feel but the Guinness in the pub was poor, as this is a tourist area, this needs to be much improved and the pub we ate in the service was good but overpriced completely....I thought Kinvara would have been better and I would certainly visit but would not need to stay for very long....I was expecting better but I appreciate everyone is trying to make a living and the season is almost over....

Ballyvaughan is a lovely town.

Ballyvaughan is a lovely town. We went to a seasonal farmer's market and got some lovely art by a local artist. We wished me made a dinner reservation at Duke's but was able to get there the next day for lunch instead. We had a rental car, but ended up walking back from town which was about 15 min and used a safety vest from the lodge. The road is narrow and dark, but we got back safely. There are 2 cab/drivers in town and we were not able to reach either so make your own transportation plans. We went to the Aillwee Burren Experience and had a good time - it was raining, but they had covered areas and it was just fine. The Birds of Prey portion was just amazing, but the cave tour was also excellent.

Fanore is a great location right in the heart of the Burren and what a drive out the coastal road from Ballyvaughan to Doolin! Great beach and other beaches also nearby, Bishops Quarter in Ballyvaughan and the famous Flaggy shore.Visit the Burren Perfumery, Hazel Mountain Chocolate factory and Corcanroe Abbey. The Rock Shop in Liscannor a lovely place to shop. For eating don't miss the tea rooms in Ballyvaughan or Monks restaurant on the pier (booking advisable).Much, much more also like Ailwee Caves / Doolin Cave and the world famous Cliffs of Moher ..you are spoilt for choice in the Burren but these are some of our favourites!
