Hotel Annamalai International is a luxury 4-star hotel located in the heart of Pondicherry. The hotel offers the best facilities and caters to both leisure and business travellers. It is just a few kilometres from the clean beaches of Pondicherry. It is well-connected to the bustling urban life of the union territory. I had the opportunity to stay in this hotel with my aged mother and my spouse for two nights (20th & 24th Jan2025) recently. All three of us are senior citizens and in particular mother was about 90 years old needing wheelchair services. Right from our arrival (on both occasions) the hotel provided us with excellent services including complete assistance with their wheelchair services whenever required. The hospitality shown by their reception, house keeping and room service staff were excellent on both the occasions. The room allotted to us (on both occasions) was spacious and clean with a good view. The toilets was very clean and comfortable. The room was provided with sufficient quantity of tea/coffee ingredients in the coffee maker table, toiletries, linen etc The room service was on time and the food served was very good. Excellent ambience was present in the lobby, the staircase and the corridors. An attractive transparent lift was also present in the hotel. Though the hotel is a roadside establishment, the double layer sealed soundproof glass panels ensures noise free environment inside the room. Overall, our stay in this was very comfortable, safe and memorable. I will definitely recommend this hotel for a safe and memorable family stay. Good show.

Dune is an exceptional place to stay. A truly peaceful and relaxing setting with a real flavour of Indian hospitality. Set against a deserted beach but for the fishing bots, in tropical grounds, there are two beautiful pools. Restaurant serves excellent food- we ate there all 4 days of our stay. Treatments are wonderful and reasonably priced. Staying in bungalows furnished with traditional furnishings and huge beds is a refreshing change. If you’re looking for a flashy 5 star international hotel, it’s not for you - but if you’re looking want to relax and enjoy a real Indian welcome from outstanding staff, Dune is waiting for you! Don’t miss it.

Fantastic experience. The location is unbeatable—right along the seaside, with vibrant and lively surroundings in the evening that truly bring Pondicherry to life. The staff were incredibly friendly, professional, and always ready to help, from the reception to housekeeping, the bar, and the restaurant. The breakfast: excellent, a wide variety of delicious options. I also loved the pool area—it’s a perfect spot to relax after a day of exploring. Mahe is a small town between Kozhikode and Kannur.

Mahe is a small town between Kozhikode and Kannur. The Mayyazhi river is very scenic especially where it enters the sea. People and nice and helpful. Food options are limited with very few good restaurants.

A beautiful temple for some specific reason. The location needs to be maintained. The temple tank area is so dirty. Not sure if we can blame the management, ideally the visitors also need to be responsible enough not to dirty the place. The temple tank needs cleanups and the area around it needs to be garbage free.

Beautiful and relaxing.

Beautiful and relaxing. Friendly staff and very beautiful lavish greenish gardens with children play area. Great relax playing basketball, volleyball and shuttle. Felt secured silent peaceful stay with great hospitality from the manager Siva. Sure, I'll visit again and recommend to my friends and families.

A funny old place.

A funny old place. Clearly the old French area - worryingly named White Town - seems to have been preserved as a cultural curiosity. It is lovely that a sea walk has been blocked from traffic, is this unique in India. It make for a peaceful walk. It is indeed curious to see vestiges of French imperialism here and these are clearly still integrated into the local life - such as the Hotel de Ville which still functions as the Municipal centre and the cops wear a Képi which of course does not make them any less coplike. The food - Madame Shastre’s is worth a shout out. Le Cédille Heritage Homestay was very calm, charming and relaxing place to stay. While the focus is on the French, the vibrant Tamil and colourful Hindu areas with fascinating temple everywhere are also worth exploring and possibly have more to offer for the discerning than vestiges of French imperialism. Great food in both areas of course and no dodgy croissants. An intriguing place which is well worth pausing in.

Made wrong decision to choose perl mahe. Poor customer care. Denied breakfast included with fair. Receptionist says we never served breakfast ever. Requested to clean the room in the morning and done after 10 at night when I came back to get some sleep. Rude receptionist. Staff are never trained into the hospitality industry. Without begging Customer won’t get any service. In the middle of the night ringing on the service line to disrupt the sleep. Never recommend to others. Worthless.

Aurivill beach least crowded. Local market is cheap. White town expensive they charge double price for 1 l bottle, couple photo happens generally here. I tried gelato and waffle it wase awesome. We stay for 2 days and I think it's enough to visit pondicherry. Rock beach people will approach you for mangrove forest motor boat ride.

Not much to do here unless you plan to stay and drink at the millions of wine shops and bars. The Tagore Walkway was nice, the little park at the base of the lighthouse was okay. Its a slightly depressing town of mostly drunk folks stumbling about, with cheap booze and cheap fuel due to the union territory tag I guess.
