FAQs about hotels in Cinque Terre
Cliff-Hugging Beauty
One of Liguria’s most beautiful areas, the Cinque Terre are 5 UNESCO World Heritage-listed villages dramatically positioned on the Mediterranean coastline.
Each has a train station, but the most exhilarating way to visit the Cinque Terre is on foot. It’s not easy at times, but is definitely rewarding. The route starts (or finishes) at Riomaggiore, the southern-most village, home to a range of accommodation including a few Cinque Terre hotels on the beach.
The easy road between here and Manarola is called the Via dell’Amore, or Lovers’ Lane. Colourful Manarola houses hug the rocky cliffs overlooking the turquoise water below. The next village along is Corniglia, the only one not by the beach, but which offers panoramic views from its hilltop position.
Next is Vernazza, arguably the most picturesque of the 5, spread over a narrow promontory jutting into the sea and with a castle tower at its tip. Still very much a fishing village, it is centred around its small harbour and beach.
The longest beach is at Monterosso al Mare, the last town on the trail. Due to its location and easy access, it is home to what are possibly the best Cinque Terre hotels for families on Booking.com. However, whichever village you choose to stay in, you can expect wonderful views and fantastic food.

- Scored out of 10, guest rating 8.9Fabulous - What previous guests thought, 92 reviewsExcellent property, very close to the beach as well as the Monterosso train station. Checking-in was a breeze as the keys were ready for us before we arrived. We were also able to get an early check-in by about an hour. Monterosso is also fairly flat meaning it was an easy walk to the property even with luggage. The room is beautiful and cute with a small garden attached. We had our own entryway so it had good privacy. The room is slightly bigger than a queen bed, fits a queen bed nicely and has a table and chairs set. Very well appointed room. The garden also had an outdoor seating area, and we had our breakfast there (our own food). Highly recommend this property as it's good and at a good location.Guest review bycest_la_vieUnited States
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 9.0Superb - What previous guests thought, 73 reviewsWe just stayed at this beautiful hotel with my family and had the most wonderful experience. The hotel itself is stunning, with breathtaking views from absolutely everywhere — our room, the restaurant, the breakfast area, and even the pool all offered incredible panoramas that made the stay unforgettable. The staff was amazing — truly one of the highlights of our stay, specially the Venezuelan brothers — they were very kind, helpful, and welcoming. The breakfast was delicious and well-prepared, with plenty of options to choose from, and we also enjoyed a lovely dinner at the restaurant.Guest review byBelenSpain

Great view of the nice beach at the window. It’s just like a picture! The man at the reception is a very nice person and helped me a lot. When I needed help at his supper time, he stopped eating immediately and came up to help. I felt even kinda sorry for the interruption since my need was not urgent.Guest review byChaoChina

La Spezia is a great town-lots of great shops, restaurants and bars for aperitivo. Very walkable and people very friendly. Perfect jumping point for access to Cinque Terre. We found it a perfect balance using Cinque Terre card and taking train in daily. More affordable and more active later in the evening so ideal for our trip.Guest review byKossis - 8.0
Quaint village in a series of 5 well connected villages.
Quaint village in a series of 5 well connected villages. Easy access by train. Amazing walks betwen villages. Warm sea to swim in. Food became a bit one dimensional. Pizza and pasta. If you don’t eat pork and shell fish then you eat a mountain of carbohydrates. We longed for something fresh. Overall a fantastic place steeped in history and Italian culture. Well worth a visit. Oh, one other thing. Don’t miss out on Levante. Take a train there. It’s greatGuest review byRoySouth Africa - 10.0

Levanto is a lively town with numerous restaurants particularly serving fresh fish and even some outdoor night time entertainment. The best on the Cinque Terre villages in our opinion.
The best on the Cinque Terre villages in our opinion. Plenty of restaurants to choose from or takeways to sit in the harbour and eat plus bars. No cover charges like the other resorts we visited. Great atmosphere. The Cinque Terre is overpriced in general not just for food/drink but also the tourist tax/ train tickets/ walking trails etc. but as long as you know this it is a lovely place so you need to tick the area off your listGuest review byCaroline - 10.0
Super relaxing. no cars, no other traffic.
Super relaxing. no cars, no other traffic. A place to get the real Italian vibe with amazing cafe in the morning and strolling around the place is just perfect. It's small and charming and everywhere we went it was fantastic, friendly with kind and hardworking people. La Torre Restaurant was mindblowing. They had a power out in half of the city that day and still cooked for us with mobil flashlight and gas stove. The absolute best meal we had in Italy and the view was just breath taking.Guest review byAnonymous - 8.0

3 nights was enough to see Manarola a lot. We swam, had dinner nightly, met the locals in the wine bar just above the church and visited 2 other towns. Our hotel room was at the very top of the town, and then up 3 flights of stairs. It was a very steep hill. Be sure you know where your hotel is, it's a very vertical town.Guest review byBretUnited States - 10.0
