Everything about this place was amazing. The room was larger than the usual in Japan. I loved that there was a gym, and it’s well in the center but not too loud. It is close to everything! I love that there was also a bath tub. The beds were comfy.

The room was spacious, really loved the design and the headboard detail 😻 the lobby has tons of cool books and magazines, games, vinyl, juice, coffee, croissants (free of charge) and even wine and beer dispenser ( around 500¥ per drink). The hotel offers free bikes! I wish we stayed a bit more here. Hope to visit the hotel next year!

I stayed at Ibis Style Kyoto Shinjo for four days and definitely enjoyed my stay. Fantastic location, just a short walk to the nearest underground station which takes you to the main commercial area, and a bus stop across the street where you can take buses to most of Kyoto's famous temples and shrines. Also a coffee shop right next door and a lot of convenient stores nearby. Clean and cozy room. Comfort bed for those who prefer a firmer mattress. The room has a fridge and an e-locker. I requested a quiet room and they did give me a quiet room where I was able to have nice sleep every night. Really friendly staffs! I was greeted with warm welcomes :) (I see complaints about room size but I think the single room is just enough for 1 person)

The staff was always kind and ready to help us in any possible way. There is a lobby at the entrance where there are free coffee and tea from 10 am to 11 pm, and many hotel guests (including us) would spend the evening reading, chatting and just relaxing, listening to some love music. Lovely. We enjoyed the onsen. Good position, just 5-6 min walk from the station. There is a metro and bus stop in front of the hotel, and a 7 eleven as well.

Location is wonderful because it is facing to a waterway. We were really enjoy the neibourhood as it was quiet and local. 4mins walking to the bus straight to city central. The staff was wonderful and really attentive. The teakwood bath was impressive. Everything came with the room was great. Our mom even skipped the night walk just to come back to the room and chill.

Kyoto is a beautiful city.

Kyoto is a beautiful city. Not as hectic as Tokyo and full of beautiful sites where you feel like you are stepping back in time. The food was consistently delicious, we enjoyed a wonderful Kaiseki meal in Gion. We were lucky to be there in peak fall season and got to see spectacular fall colors, Would love to come back and spend more time here.

Miyazu which includes Amanohashidate, is one of three natural sites in Japan. The land bridge spans across the sea is fun to view from the observation points (on both sides) and you can actually bike (20 minutes) or walk (50 minutes) one way across. A small town with lots of charm and beauty.

The staff was awesome! They did everything in their power to ensure I had a pleasant stay. Room is extremely small by US standards! Room could use a microwave, the only one available was on the ground floor and I was on the 7th.

Kameoka is the starting point of the famous and historical...

Kameoka is the starting point of the famous and historical Hozu River rafting ride that takes you to Arashiyama, home of the famous bamboo forest. Enjoy the rafting, enjoy Arashiyama and take the train back to Kameoka. Hotel is a 5 minute walk from the station. A perfect day.

Gionmachi is a wonderful section of Kyoto and offers much to see and experience. It is easy, maybe 15 to 20 minutes taxi to other areas of Kyoto that are also beautiful, historical and traditional. Overall, this is a place I would come back to because I have much more to see.

I especially recommend it to travelers from overseas. If you are sightseeing in Kyoto, Nara, or Osaka for a few days, staying at this facility and using Kameoka as your base will be the best way to travel to Kansai. Like taking a day trip from your home. If your schedule is 2 nights and 3 days or 3 nights and 4 days, it is definitely a good deal even if you add transportation expenses. You can't stay in a house in Kyoto or Nara.

I loved this hotel!!! The service was outstanding. The rooms were beautiful and clean. The location was perfect - close to town but not in town. We walked everywhere and felt very safe. Close to the train station as well. I will certainly stay here on my next trip to Kyoto.

Beautiful stretch maybe 15-20minutes midway to Ohara Kibune was nice though much smaller Uji is a nice day trip too, walkable town for best matcha beautiful Kyoto station all lit at night to the 11th floor Ramen floor the Philosopher's Path is a great walk from garden to the 3 quaint streets /Gion NAKAGYO WARD's small Shinsenen Garden is a nice, quiet tho SMALL place to go to at the start of the day -very near (10-15min walk) our Meldia Stay Nijojo hotel a nice mini mall also at Nakagyo Ward: with beautiful tea shops and a few high end Japanese shops @ ShinPuhKan. also w a few retaurants
