Clean, nice bedding, comfortable mattress, air dresser is a def plus and simple complimentary breakfast was good enough for our group. Big TV with Netflix access, AC worked well too. The property isn’t big nor like a big fancy chain hotel but the amenities were great for its price. Staff was friendly as well. Good location too.

Super comfortable stay at Hoya stay. It’s more like studio apartments rather than hotel rooms. Super clean rooms with a nice bathroom. Easy to grab taxis and few minute walk to the bus station. Would definitely stay here again.

The location is good if you don’t want to be in the town center. Taxis are cheap to get into where it’s all happening (6,000 KRW) The price was very reasonable for a 5 star (in reality a 3+ star at the most. We paid 531,000 KRW for a double deluxe with full ocean view - very nice and quiet too. Having a convenience shop on site was very good.

Fantastic hotel in a great location on a hilltop overlooking the waterfront. The cherry blossoms were in full bloom for our stay and the gardens were just starting to flower. Our junior suite had two balconies and expansive windows. A separate bedroom with a table and chairs, and a living room with a large sitting area. We appreciated the pulldown screens on the balcony doors so we could keep the cool air coming in!

Excellent location walking distance to Meta Provence and Metasequoia Road, a short drive to Juknokwon, and lots of convenience stores around. Very clean apartment well stocked with toilet paper, toothpaste, and shower toiletries. The owner made sure we had a dedicated parking spot even during busy times, which was very nice.

A very beautiful seaside city in Korea. Really enjoyed visiting it. It has very gorgeous waterfront, and also many beautiful beaches and natural sceneries. A perfect city for a road trip or a vacation. Would definitely come back again!

Mokpo and the area is amazing. Lots of things to see and do. It is an area for driving as things are spread out, but lots to do and see in town with some great restaurants. Museums are good and touring the islands is a must do! Mokpo is a growing area that has much to offer. It isn't Seoul, but it is on one of the most picturesque regions of Korea. Take a day to travel the islands to the West, then another day South, then explore the mountains to the East. High-end hotels are in short supply in the area, but there a lot of good hotel options.

Things we enjoyed: Boat tour on the Suncheon Wetlands, hike up to Azalea Gardens, visiting farmers market, temples in Yeosu and north of Suncheon. Interesting restaurants, good bakeries. Meeting interesting people, mostly polite and friendly.

Relaxing and friendly place. Laid back fishing town. Great views from Wando Tower. Monorail to tower, zip line from tower to monorail for thrill seekers. Everything is walking distance. Plenty of places to eat especially if you want some sort of seafood which isn’t surprising given the number of fishing boats in the harbour.

Great if you like seafood because there were few places that offered other than seafood. Most of city opens or comes alive after five pm. Mornings are rather boring except for a boat tour and one museum. Expo was in 2012 which meant most of the center was closed or abandoned.

There is so much to do in this beautiful seaside town. From walking along the beautiful promenade to attending the incredible expos close to the station, there is a good balance of a peaceful seaside town (with an island you can walk to) and busy activity.

Suncheon is an unassuming town that has quote a few things worth seeing and doing, some take up quite a bit of time due to the activity itself and/or travel to and from the required location (eg wetlands and Yonsan Observatory, and Nagan Eupseong Folk Village). It's also got a lovely river worth walking or cycling along and they have the World Garden Expo on at present. You may wish to go ziplining and/or on a cable car ride, so the Geumosan Mountain Zip Wire near Jingyo is well worth the journey. The town is friendly, manageable and good for a few days.
