We love the beauty and calmness. Quiet. Birdsong and bird watching. Frogs at night chirping. Lovely simple design of the rooms looking out to simple gardens and trees full of nesting birds. Absolutely kind and helpful staff. Delicious meals. Help with travel and tour arrangements. The small boutique selling designer garments made sustainably.

We had such a lovely time staying here because the hosts ensured we had everything we needed and were really helpful. The food was excellent. They prepared dinner for us, provided us with a breakfast/lunch package and also helped us to organise a safari + guide. The room was spacious, clean and the bed was comfortable. We also liked the balcony with the lovely views!

i loved my stay in Gabaa! Aesthetic place surrounded by forests where you can enjoy symptomy of birds all day long. I enjoyed it so much that I extended my stay. I will never forget taking a dip in pool after a long day of visiting ancient cities. There was silence, serenity and two monkeys playing in the tree. it felt surreal! 😍 Prabat is THE BEST CHEF in whole Habarana! make sure to stay in for dinner and ask him to prepare his famous chicken curry! service was super Kind and helpful - Thank you for making my stay unforgettable.

This hotel is the most beautiful hotel I have ever stayed in. Interior design is very stylish and has several personal touches which the lovely owners will walk you through. Everything was very clean and functioning. Food is cooked to your liking and served on time. Throughout the stay the staff is attentive and service is excellent. We like to chitchat a bit, and the staff has perfect English skills. Few rooms available, so it feels like renting an entire luxurious villa for yourself. Even if not planning to go to Anuradhapura, I would go simply to enjoy this hotel. (If you can even call it a hotel. Feels like being invited into a celebrity’s private mansion!).

We had a fantastic stay at Saplumar Lodge! The location is perfect, making it easy to explore the area. Our room was spacious, clean, and very comfortable. The highlight of our stay was the incredible hospitality of our host, Shan. He was always smiling, approachable, and genuinely eager to assist us. His helpful recommendations and local insights made our trip even better. Whether we needed advice on places to visit or just a friendly chat, Shan was always there to help. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for great accommodation with outstanding service! Would definitely stay here again.

During my stay, the property owner made several inappropriate and judgmental comments about my affordability and my decision to share meals with my mother, who is disabled. His behaviour was rude and discriminatory. After I posted my review describing my disappointment, the owner contacted me directly on my personal mobile number using very abusive and offensive language. This message was completely unacceptable and made me feel unsafe.

Habarana is a small town located at a crossroads and a main...

Habarana is a small town located at a crossroads and a main road. It is therefore very accessible to other important cities, such as Polonnaruwa, Trincomalee, Dambulla, Anuradhapura, Sigiriya, etc. As well as to the natural parks, which are located nearby. Public transport is perfectly provided. The town has the necessary facilities such as shops, a bank, a post office, a doctor, etc. The beautiful surrounding nature, and easily accessible lakes, are also an advantage.

We loved our Homestay chez Olivia .

We loved our Homestay chez Olivia . Lovely couple very hospitable and helpful. Hired bikes which was wonderful to go see all the Stupa sites etc. beautiful area & lovely garden. Birdlife was fabulous. Highly recommend

Farm Cottage was peaceful and very comfortable. The room was clean and cozy, and the surroundings were quiet and relaxing. The host was friendly and helpful. A perfect place to unwind – I’d definitely stay again!

Anuradhapura is an amazing and spiritual place.

Anuradhapura is an amazing and spiritual place. It's different from the other sites in Sri Lanka because it still attracts so many pilgrims to its religious sites. It's a good idea to dedicate one day to visiting the active pilgrimage sites and the next to the historical sites, for which you need a ticket. Remember to cover up with long trousers and sleeves and don't forget your socks, because the ground is really hot and you have to take off your shoes everywhere. If you have an extra day, you can also return to the sites at night, which is when pilgrims light candles. Make sure you've got the Pick Me app installed and look out for a tuk tuk driver called Nisha. He's absolutely amazing: great driver, kind and attentive and with good English. For dinner, the atmospheric Hotel Shalini is a good bet. The Seedevi family restaurant is another good place. If you want to have a beer, they can put you in a separate 'family' room, or you can go to the tiny 'pub' next door.

Good location to visit the National parks where Elephants roam. Take a short drive to Ritigala and be amazed at the heritage site of a millenia old large forest monastery. Dine at the Ran Rasa restaurant for one of the best Chicken Koththus you will taste..
