This cottage stay was everything I could have hoped for! Perched in the hills, it offered breathtaking views that were a treat to wake up to every morning. The serene atmosphere made it the perfect escape from city life. The breakfast was absolutely delicious—fresh, hearty, and full of local flavors. Ask for the Sri Lankan breakfast; it was amazing!! The cottage itself was cozy, clean, and well-maintained, with thoughtful touches that made it feel like home. I can't thank Roshan - the owner and his family enough for the help they rendered. Right from information about the various tourist sites to booking a scooter for us to helping my fellow traveler with medical aid or getting food, they never said no to anything. Extremely helpful and friendly people. They also booked a tuktuk for us at a reasonable price to get to Nanu Oya. Ask them about good places to eat and visit. The homestay is located on a hillock about 2.5 kms away from the city centre or post office. Please use pickme app to book a tuktuk to this place. Our room was spacious and clean and the homestay is very beautiful. We had no problem with the wifi like we had in Sigiriya and Kandy. They have a small garden and the view of the city and the open sky is amazing. We had great conversations with the family. Would definitely book the homestay again if I visit Nuwara Eliya in the future.

We're a family of six (four kids!) and just spent 2 days at Grand Hotel. If I had to sum up our experience in one word, it would be PERFECTGrand Hotel  is an ideal choice for a vacation at Kandy. It's conveniently close to all the action – bars, restaurants, and surf spots – yet provides a wonderfully quiet and relaxing escape.The rooms were spacious, well-equipped, and impeccably clean. The staff were exceptionally professional and always attentive to our requests with a special thanks to Shiron! The meals, from breakfast to dinner, were consistently tasty, and the menu offered a great variety.I highly recommend Grand Hotel that contributing to our perfect family vacation.

Dec 2023 What an amazing experience. This hotel is a feast for all the senses. I especially have to mention Jayanthi who did our tea tasting and mini tea factory tour. She was such a wealth of information. Shamnu the chef was amazing. He arranged a veritable feast of vegan food for us, including vegan desserts, and vegan masala tea. Kesawan, our server was also extremely attentive and helpful. Definitely worth a visit. This is such a well-maintained and special hotel.

Amazing hospitality. The manager Mr Nayan Wikramasinghe, the caretakers Mr Seelan and Elango, were simply amazing. They took care of all our needs and went over and above to make our stay memorable. Queen’s Wood’s rooms are just as cozy as the pictures show. The hotel, in my opinion, is a first-class stay with great hospitality and fantastic food. We enjoyed the hot bath and the location, which is close to several of the main attractions in Nuwara Eliya.

Besides doing the incredibly beautiful hike to Adams Peak, you can hire a tuktuk driver to guide you to Morey's Waterfall. the best waterfall we got to hike to in Sri lanka, challenging 1 hour hike but you'll get to stroll thru lush tea plantations and walk along side Lake Morey.

If you are into budget travel and want a genuine local experience, NanuOya is a good town to visit. It’s very close to the main tourist town Nuwara Eliya (approx 9km away) and has buses heading there every 20mins. You can also get there by train. The locals are very helpful and kind. You get a few places to eat food like South Indian dishes and koththu and a few places to buy liquor from. There are two waterfalls and the larger, wider one located inside the Glassough tea estate is a place where you can bathe in on a sunny day. It’s a lovely little town surrounded by tea estates!

The location is off-the-beaten track a bit if that’s what you like. Personally coming from England I didn’t need to see Nuwara Elyia (little England), little point when I live in England! I enjoyed being in the middle of nowhere and in a peaceful environment before hitting the city of Kandy.

Wonderful place to stay and good place to explore. We went to Lover's Leap Waterfalls, Gregory lake, Sita Temple, Hanuman Temple, Labookellie Tea Centre, Ambewela Farms, Victoria Park, Hakgala Botanical Gardens and Grand Hotel.

Do not climb on Saturdays as you will most probably not be able to reach the top. It was over-crowded and the path is narrow the last 500 meters. Got stuck in one spot for 45 minutes and decided to turn around. Still got amazing views though and the experience of local pilgrimage which was a privilege!

Hatton is the second largest city in Nuwara Eliya District has so many places to visit.The Adams peak is the most venerated place in the area.Many reserviors and watterfalls can see in this area.Seven virgin mountains,Sri pada Forest can be explored during the stay.

Maskeliya is a market town which could be lot more .

Maskeliya is a market town which could be lot more .The hilly terrain is a planners dream. I imagine the buildings painted pastal pink and yellow, flower pots hanging from the eves, it could be a destination rather than a quick stop to buy supplies on the way to elsewhere as is now.
