We can walk to the beach. The food there was amazing. There was a person who cooked for us. It was very delicious. We liked it so much that we asked him to cook for us the next morning. He also cooked with satisfaction. We recommend you to go there once and spend your night.

United KingdomWe spent three nights at Sunrise Pasikuda and it was perfect. The hotel is immaculate and our room (we had a family suite) was spacious and comfortable with a huge bathroom and two toilets, and a big balcony. We loved the little extras like the fruit plate and flowers on the bed.
The location is great. The hotel has a huge pool which leads down to the hotel beach which is clean and quiet with a beach bar. You can do water sports and we did a boat trip that took us to local reefs with excellent snorkelling.
We had all our meals here and I can’t fault the food. Breakfast and dinner are buffets with wide choice and there was entertainment every evening. We liked playing pool although the pool cues need an update.
What made our stay so special was the staff at the hotel. They are so warm and welcoming and just want you to have a great time. We will definitely return.

New ZealandWonderful experience here. The host was very supportive and kind. He helped me locate a bicycle and personally drove me to the bus station in the early morning. The place is near a great cafe/restaurant and a luxury hotel is close by with a pool you can use. Top spot!

We stayed at Passi Villa in Pasikuda for a peaceful vacation, and we thoroughly enjoyed our time there. From the moment we arrived, the check-in process was smooth, and the staff greeted us warmly, making us feel right at home. The villa had a calm and tropical atmosphere, which set the perfect mood for relaxation.
Our room was spacious, clean, and had a stunning view of the beach. Waking up to the breathtaking sight of the sunrise the morning was one of the best parts of our stay. The calmness of the surroundings, combined with the ability to watch the sun’s first rays over the ocean, made each morning feel magical. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and the décor added to the serene, coastal vibe. The bathroom was modern, with all the necessary amenities.
One of the highlights of our stay was the swimming pool, which offered a gorgeous view of the beach. It was beautifully maintained and perfect for cooling off after a day in the sun. We spent a relaxing afternoon there, enjoying the peaceful ambiance, the beach view, and the great service by the poolside.
We dined at the hotel restaurant several times, and the food was delicious, especially the fresh seafood.
The location of Passi Villa was ideal for a beach getaway, with easy access to the ocean and water activities. The calmness of the surroundings allowed us to truly unwind, making it a perfect retreat.
Overall, our stay at Passi Villa exceeded our expectations, and we would highly recommend it to couples looking for a tranquil and romantic escape. We look forward to returning soon!

We tryd a wellness treatment that we wanted to do for a long time, we had been to various places before in finding an Authentic treatment procedure to see the real benefits but we did not find one.
After being to Suwa Piyasa at Giman Free Beach Resort we got to know the procedure, the medication, the food and the environment which is conducive to such treatment. It’s a unique and a purpose build facility that can create that kind of environment. It just that feeling of Relaxed atmosphere !!
Local fisher folk provides fresh seafood to the Resort, great social responsibility by the Resort . Always fresh sea food is a possibility and Chef is capable of turning out great seafood dishes !!
We made a decision to come back for a long stay Ayurveda session !!.

Everything about the resort was really amazing. Very spacious and spotless rooms /chalets with very clean spacious bathrooms. Very warm and friendly staff with such hospitality. Checking in constant to see if the guests are comfortable or if need any assistance with anything. Spectra views of the sea and the design of the resort is amazing. Beach is perfect and really clean with the softest sand. Rooms /chalets are serviced lightly in the evening as well.

Thank you all for making my stay memorable.
I will never forget the beautiful sunrise in 6.15am and first swim the same time.
Ruben was the day star and the best helper, also the lifeguard.
My only advise to the hotel - more attention to the environment, surroundings and cleanliness of the whole beach not the hotel part. Spa is another little gem of the complex. The food and the chef with all the staff were amazing. Great place to feel happy.

Apart from the beach there is nothing much in walking...
Apart from the beach there is nothing much in walking distance though we did go for dinner at Bayceylons which was very close and good. Hotel excursions expensive but there’s a local company that do fishing and snorkelling trips at a good price.

Batticaloa is very good city, peaceful, less traffic, sort of more rural touch as compared to Colombo. People are also very cooperative and helpful in all ways. Its a small town. The beach is also very neat and clean.
There are many local restaurants and hotel. We can find good food there.

Kalkudah is one of the best beaches in Sri Lanka!
Kalkudah is one of the best beaches in Sri Lanka! The water here has an amazing emerald colour and it is very clean, transparent. It is a very long and beautiful sandy beach with a free natural spirit, with hardly anyone around. We enjoyed swimming almost all the day! No tourist attractions but some restaurants like Laya Waves are and Swiss Cafe on the shore are the options. Kalkudah works fine for yoga, meditation, walking along, etc. There are some cows and their manure in some spots, but it is better than plastic garbage. Some days the waves were bigger than Passikuda, but no corals on Kalkudah. Comparing to Passikuda we liked Kalkudah much better. Passikuda is over crowded with a long chain of luxury hotels and is not as beautiful. Anyway if anyone is coming with children Passikuda has shallow waters, as well as some tourists attractions. In any case, on Kalkudah one can dig a hole in the sand for children, where the ocean water will come, while making the natural baths that way.

Batticaloa was warm and humid, but that is more than made up for by its breathtaking beauty and abundant seafood. The town is exceptionally clean, surrounded by water, and radiates a serene charm. Pasikudah, in particular, took our breath away. With its pristine beaches and tranquil waters, it’s nothing short of amazing—a true gem on the eastern coast.
