Amazing place 🌸 We had the best time at Animals. It’s a new place and they have done an incredible job with this little oasis in Ahangama. The style, the food, the drinks, the surroundings are perfekt and unique and the people here are the kindest and go above and beyond to make you feel welcome and comfortable. Location is perfect, just away from the busy main road and centre, but a short walk to the Kabalana beach and with restaurants near by. You can walk and take a short Tuk Tuk to the centre of Ahangama. We absolutely loved it here and will come back for sure. Thank you 🤩

This hotel is, with no doubt, the best hotel in Hikkaduwa (and probably in Sri Lanka) The location is perfect, the rooms are amazing (well organised, incredible views, all the amenities you can need, soft towels, good coffee and tea…), the breakfast is the best one we have had in Sri Lanka (awesome!!!), the pool is fantastic and the staff is the best that the hotel keeps…thanks to Franzi for all the recommendations, attentions and care ❤️). We really didn’t want to come back home 🥹. The relation quality-price can’t be better and I do not understand yet why the hotel just keeps 5 stars! Should be at least 6! Really, the best place in Sri Lanka for relaxing, surfing or enjoying the sun. We will be back as soon as we can Thanks!!!

It is beautiful hotel, in the city centre. The Fort is nearby. The hotel is spacious, beautifully designed. Breakfast is served at the beach club, which haa an excellent location at the beach of Galle. We even saw sea turtles.

It was really amazing stay. It looks like on pictures. I felt very well take care for. The hotel has just 4 rooms, gives you private vibes, very calm place, nice environment around (jungle vibes). Very close to the beach and "center" (5 mins), but thankfully outside of noisy busy life. Breakfast was good and everyday different (srilankan, but you can opt for classic english). Room was beautiful and spacious, all facilities worked well. Complimentary water after cleaning. Great matress and bedsheets, for me very suitable pillows. Special thanks to Theekshana for booking for me private yoga class and other things, as well as management of late check-out for me.

We recently spent five days at this beautiful hotel, and from the moment we arrived, we felt completely at home. Every single person working here deserves the highest praise: From the reception and restaurant teams to the spa staff, gardeners, and service crew. Everyone was incredibly friendly, genuine, and always ready to help with a smile. A very special thank you goes to our butler, Badde, who made our stay unforgettable. His attention to detail and thoughtful surprises turned our holiday into something even more special. Beyond his professionalism, he is simply a wonderful person, full of positive energy. The property itself is breathtaking. Located on a large rock overlooking the coast, it feels as if you are floating between forest, beach, and sea. The sound of the waves is always present, and the views in every direction are magical. Despite being around 30 years old, the hotel feels modern and very well maintained. Improvements are constantly being made. The architecture and interior design are unique and tasteful, far more characterful than in many new hotels. Some reviews mention that certain areas might feel a little “aged,” but in our opinion, that criticism is entirely misplaced. Naturally, not every pool or wall can be rebuilt every few years and there is absolutely no reason to. Everything is clean, comfortable, and well maintained. The food is another highlight. Even after five days, we kept discovering new dishes to try, each one beautifully presented and full of flavor. The variety and quality are truly impressive. All in all, this hotel combines hospitality, design and experience in a way that’s very rare to find. We left deeply relaxed and already looking forward to returning one day.

I couldn’t recommend this lovely hotel more: the facilities, the private beach, the delicious food and the welcoming staff made our stay a fantastic one. It is also far from all the business of Unawatuna so you can enjoy some silence; however, if you do want a chance of scenery and want to experience the crowds, it is like a 20 min walk or a 5 min tuk tuk ride.

Hotel is very clean and facilities are comfortable. We stayed in 'Deluxe Ocean View' room and it was quite big. We had breakfast and dinner buffet and there were more choices. Hotel is next to the beach and you can have nice walk. There are several nice and clean pools. Unfortunately it was only a short stay.

Just DON’T use the White Queen, as the manager will make it very difficult for you to get any redress if there’s a problem (I was charged for a five night stay instead of Four, and only realised after payment had been taken-silly me!) Enjoy your stay, just elsewhere in Galle.

Its a fantastic place, just at the beach and well planned hotel, pools, beach, restaurants, bars, lobbys are equally catering to customer service points. We had our best hotel experience at Araliya Unawatuna. Even met the owner and had a generous chat during breakfast which is so touching and personalized service standard I believe. Easy to visit Galle Fort, just a walk to the golden sandy beaches. Staff from top management to the ground staff is well trained to give excellent customer care. We specially thanking to our 7th flour room service staff who simply helped us in technical support, bars and restaurant staff and Nethmi & Dakshika and all wonderful reception staff memebers.

Hikkaduwa is one of the best tourist beach spots with...

Hikkaduwa is one of the best tourist beach spots with friendly and helpful local people. The weather is cool even though we had some rain, but we stayed at the villa on the balcony watching people fishing kayaking and canoeing down the River. The beach area has some unique fresh seafood restaurants, surfing, snorkeling and you can even rent out glass-bottomed boat to see underwater world. There is also a Turtle Hatchery here and Tsunami museum for tourists. Beach is very clean.

Ahangama is so peaceful - it's slightly away from the busier areas around the coast. The restaurants around are in great locations, and all very calm with great vibes. It's also very easy and quick to get to neighbouring towns to visit sites, or restaurants in those locations as well.

There are so many locations to see.good peoples are around & very safe are. I like the place & the area.i had great time durig the vacation.I guess that threre is 1km around to the beach & also there is a logoon.i have experience the boat safari at the lake. I wish if i could stay few more days to enjoy.

The rooms were clean and comfortable, the staff were friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere was relaxing. The food was absolutely delicious — every meal was a treat. Great beach, we felt like Robinson Crusoe on the beach, almost just the 2 of us. Visiting Mahdu Lake at 6 a.m. watching the sun goes up. A natural paradise with a lot of birds and other animals. Listening to their different noises. Dining at the Mangrove Cave Restaurant we enjoyed freshest seafood. It was just very tasty.

My favourite place was the turtle hatchery. Most meals were eaten at the Hotel. Very easy to get around. There is a tour agency opposite the hotel entrance, it cant get any better than that. It is easy to take tuk tuk or van taxis. Superior beach front view. Beautiful gardens and swimming pool. Well done to the management and staff for this top class facility. Local fishermen were easy to approach and social chat with.
