Our stay was really perfect. The hotel was one of the cleanest we had in Sri Lanka, the pool is awesome and invites for relaxed hours. The room and its equipment was also impeccable. We spontaneously prolonged our stay for one more night because we just loved it. Tharindu and the rest of the staff were super attentive and fulfilled every wish. The restaurant was also yummy and the prices were reasonable. They even gave us a free bottle of water for the onward journey. The organization of the full day safari was easy and we got to see elephants and leopards with our guide Dinuka. The guide was also very good as he was very experienced (one time he predicted the exact point of a leopard crossing the road). All in all: If we ever come back to Tissimaharama, we will definitely stay there again!

Beside the Tissa Lake. Great point to see sunset. More beyond than my expectations. So nice place and hope to come again. Recommend to try local food prepared by host and you can enjoy with a great view. Thank you so much for all staff’s hard working and take care of us well.

The place is beautiful, a really nice cocoon near the lake! The owners are really friendly and they offer you a bird tour in the evening with sunset stop. This experience was really enjoyable and interesting, the sunset on the lake beautiful.

We had an amazing stay at Halcyon in Mawella! The hotel is perfectly located – peaceful, with a quiet, clean beach just steps away. The atmosphere is super relaxing, and the pool area is beautiful with plenty of sunbeds, so there’s always a spot to unwind. We ate all our meals at the hotel – breakfast, lunch, and dinner – and every single one was delicious. The food is a wonderful mix of Sri Lankan flavors with some Western touches, fresh and full of taste. The setting is gorgeous and the staff are genuinely friendly, making the whole experience even better. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a laid-back, beautiful spot to enjoy the south coast of Sri Lanka!

The staff and host in this property could not have been any kinder. We were able to get our laundry done for a very fair price and the host even made us a packed breakfast as we had to leave very early morning on our departure. The location was very close to the beach and a short ride to the secret beach.

    I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Kithala Thissa-Yala Resort, and it was an experience worth every moment. From the moment we arrived, the tranquil ambiance and stunning views of the surrounding paddy fields immediately set the scene for a relaxing getaway. The resort itself is immaculate, with spotless rooms and well-maintained common areas. Its proximity to the main attractions is incredibly convenient, making it an excellent base for exploring the local sights. What truly sets Kithala Thissa-Yala Resort apart, however, is the exceptional hospitality of the staff. A special shout out to Ayenaji and Surangi from the front desk, and Iresh, Janith, Gihan, Wathsala, and Pavindu from the restaurant for their outstanding service. Additionally, a heartfelt thanks to the many other sweet and most attentive hotel staff who went above and beyond to ensure that our stay was enjoyable. Their service was unmatched, combining professionalism with a warm, personal touch that made us feel right at home. Initially, we only signed up for the bed and breakfast deal, but the quality of the food was so impressive that we ended up dining at the hotel for both lunch and dinner. Every meal was delicious, showcasing a variety of local and international dishes that catered to all tastes. In summary, if you are looking for a place to unwind and soak up the natural beauty of Yala, look no further than Kithala Thissa-Yala Resort. Do yourselves a favor and experience the outstanding service and serene environment – you won't regret it.

    Uga chena huts were like a heaven on earth. Amazing scenery, amazing ambience , amazing eco friendly architecture , amazing team to take care of you and pamper you with attention and great food presented in Michelin star way. The hotel in the midst of national forest with private jacuzzi pool overlooking the forest was a treat. The care provided by staff was heart touching .     Amazing place and service. The room was beautiful, big and very confortable. Pali, Our guide with whom we did the safari was very nice and had lots of knowledge to share. We learned a lot during the safari with him. The staff were very caring and accomodating on specific diet and dietary requirements and the food was very good.     Tissamaharama is a fantastic base for anyone looking to explore the natural beauty and rich culture of southern Sri Lanka. It's perfectly located for Yala National Park safaris, offering easy access to incredible wildlife encounters. Beyond the safaris, the town itself has a calm, local vibe with beautiful lakes and ancient temples to discover. You'll find plenty of local restaurants and shops, making it easy to enjoy authentic Sri Lankan experiences. It's a great spot for both adventure and relaxation, and I highly recommend spending some time here!

    A great place to stay and would definitely recommend. Large comfortable room close to the pool, with restaurant and plenty of cold beer. We were very well looked after and nothing was too much trouble. Anyone looking for a visit to the National Park should consider staying at Tringa and booking the tour with them as they will make sure you have a great experience.

This location is especially convenient during the rainy season, as it often stays dry even when the rest of the country is experiencing thunderstorms. We chose it specifically to avoid heavy rains.

    Tangalle is a mix of typical large commercial local Sri Lankan town buzz combined with touristy beach / restaurant / bar area. Very laid back along that 'strip', many bars and restaurants vying for business so you can be selective.

    The owner of Serenity lake advices us to visit Yala safari, Sithul pawwa magul viharaya and sithul pawwa a super history with beautiful scenery, which we did and we're very grateful for his advice. We returned to the serenity lake to have lunch before heading off. Requested for a village kind of lunch with the local veggies and it was served on a lotus leaf... The most delicious meal it was. We had lunch at Reds and at the Serenity lake .

    It definitely is an experience worth trying.

    It definitely is an experience worth trying. The tree house has all the comforts you need but yet kept on the simple side. Don't expect much and you will get a lot. Nice food Bbq and big fire lit for you in the evening to give you a chance to relax and talk about your day activities. It was great to be left alone and the silence of the night. There were times you just felt that we were the only ones there and when you needed something the staff would magically appear

    I don’t recommend Peacock Beach Resort because my experience is so bad treble staff and they don’t care the visitors they at least not gave us drinking water after so many requests TV snd a/c didn’t work 😥😥😥😥😥
