We spent in hotel only 1 night but if we would stay in Sigiriya longer we would definetly stay here. The second we came, personal were so nice and helpful. Location of hotel is amazing, walk distance to Lion rock and 20 min with tuk tuk to Dambulla caves. The room was spacious, clean, with amazing view. Breakfast in morning was amazing, homemade mix of western and traditional sri lankan dishes with fresh cut fruit. 10/10

The room was clean and so spacious, breakfast was delicious- a mix of traditional and western breakfast. Staff were so lovely and helpful, we had a delay with our drivers car and they offered us late check out at no extra charge- this was so kind. Great for the kids with lots of grounds to explore and the pool was a beautiful extra touch. Great location, close to everything you would want to do in Sigiriya. More than a 10/10. How peaceful and quiet the place was, surrounded by nature. Everyone who was working was really friendly and even with the location being a bit out the way was no trouble getting any help in ordering transportation. Breakfast was good and rooms are very spacious and comfortable.

We had an amazing stay. The staff were super friendly and accommodating. We really enjoyed the food especially the homemade fries. We had a swim in their lovely outdoor pool, it was great. It really feels like we're in a jungle but safe. The rooms were huge, lovely and clean. Would highly recommend for anyone staying in Sigiriya.

    Our private villa was absolutely amazing! They also upgraded us to one with a pool and put out some decorations on behalf of it being our honeymoon! We had a contact/butler we could request things via WhatsApp and he was very accommodating and friendly. On that note, all the staff were brilliant, housekeeping called in the evenings also to check if we needed anything - water, towels, etc. and provided turndown service. The grounds of the hotel are amazing, with trails all the way around the property that can be walked, jogged or cycled (there are complimentary bikes!). There was also fantastic wildlife to be seen on the grounds! Monkeys, crocodiles, snakes, lizards, peacocks, etc.! There is a nice bar with a pool table and the cocktails, etc. are nice. The food was amazing. We also used the spa for a couples Balinese massage - it was amazing and very professional from offering drinks at welcome and at the end, etc. Just an amazing stay, pricey but well worth it.

    I had a wonderful stay here during our 6 nights in Sri Lanka. Great location, nice restaurant, delicious snacks, and most of all, the most amazing staff. The free garden tours by the staff were a great introduction, and the team went out of their way to make sure we had all the logistics we needed. Bravo! Best dinner buffet enjoyed in Sri Lanka. super spa. It is authentic and local. Tip – Take a little time outdoors to enjoy animal details & if you need help, contact any staff.

    There is so much more to do in this area than I realised.

    There is so much more to do in this area than I realised. I will definitely come back. The area is beautiful and we were sad to leave. We dud Pidurangala Rock which was fun, more of an adventurous climb than Lions Rock. It has incredible views of Lions Rock. We also did a safari in Minneriya National Park. The park was beautiful and we saw so many elephants plus lots of varieties of birds, golden jackals, monkees, mongoose, the grizzled giant squirrel, buffalo and jungle foul. We also went to Dambula Temple Caves which is very spiritual and Luckgrove Spice Gardens which was an incredible experience. Highly recommend this area.

    We chose not to climb Sigiriya (having just recovered from Adam's Peak!) but instead chose the much shorter Pidurangala which afforded a fabulous view of Sigiriya. Highly recommended. A visit to the Bawa hotel, Heritance Kandalama, is well worth it as an insight into the brilliant architectural mind of Geoffrey Bawa.

    A beautiful place on earth that there are lots of 360 degree view points. But if it rains it will ruin your plans. So make sure you depend on weatherly and visit Matale when it shows many continuous sunny days. Even on cloudy forecasts do not visit as all mointain tops then will be covered and you will not see the sights. when it is humid leaches also will be active and will become a painful experience.

    A nice hike to view a breathe taking view. If anyone should travel to Sigiriya they should start to climb the rock at 5.30am as the ticket counters open. Wearing proper hiking or workout clothes would be the best.

    Dambulla is an excellent base for exploring Kandy, Anuradhapura, Polonnaruwa and Sigiriya. We stayed there for 4 Nights and could cover the heritage sites easily. Dambulla Caves are a must-see and so is Sigiriya (just 16 Kms. away). Anuradhapura and Polonnaruwa are around an hours drive but Dambulla is much well-connected and less touristy.

    Mainly there are 10-12 attractions in Matale. As I just stayed one day which was not sufficient to visit all the places. Among them where I went were also hampered due to the rain at time to time. Generally Matele was quit good tourist destination if it is planned well with couple of days.

    Sigiriya is stunning and has a lovely village charm to it, compared to the tourist/backpacker mecca that is Ella. There are plenty of restaurants and bars to choose from but it somehow doesn't detract and Sigiriya still feels very local and true to SL values.
