The location is just 50 metres away from the entrance to the Sinharaja rainforrest, but you are already in the rainforest setting in the stay. Pikiri is a kind and warm person who made our stay so lovely, he made sure the food was prepared according to our dietary requirements and also helped us find a quick and cheap way to Colombo after our flight was rescheduled.

We stayed in Birds Paradise Hotel for three nights and birding around Sinharaja. The staff are very friendly and always helpful to our needs. And I was satisfied with the breakfast and dinners in the hotel which comforted me whenever I needed. Highly recommend!

Our stay at Sinharaja Forest Lodge was truly relaxing. The lodge is surrounded by lush tea plantations and beautiful greenery, making it a perfect escape into nature. The room was comfortable and clean, with everything we needed. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and the breakfast was delicious. We especially loved the morning views and peaceful atmosphere. The lodge itself is amazing, really stylish, with an incredible swimming pool, and matches perfect with the wild forest. But for us the best of this place is the team. We stayed there during Ditwah cyclone, and Lasith, Amal, Hansen and all team without exception were incredible. We could stay one more night safe and they did their best to help us in everything and informing about the sad situation the island was living constantly. We could leave the hotel without problem the day after and return home safe. There are many amazing lodges in the world, this is one for sure, but what really makes an stay unforgetable is when you have a problem and the hotel team helps you to solve it with efficiency and a big smile. Jansens' lodge is the place. We would like to say Thank You once to all of you again and for sure we will come back to see you again and stay in this lovely lodge

Such a unique beautiful calming location. The family who run the hideaway are all attentive, generous and go above and beyond to make sure you have a memorable stay. I was able to swim in the river each day and eat delicious home cooked meals 3 times a day. I had not planned to visit the rainforest or this area of Sri Lanka and I ended up pivoting to find some solace for my final three nights and I'm so glad I did. Thank you to the property owners for looking after me. I'd love to stay again when I return to Sri Lanka.

Where to start? Hemal is such a such a kind guy and the best host you can imagine. It’s a new hotel so I was happy to be the first client. The hotel is at the entrance of the park and besides the great and spacious rooms as well as great food made by his wife, Hemal is an awesome forst guide that spots animals from a distance away! I did both the night tour seeing loris, scorpions, deer and snakes etc. (be silent while he’s spotting) as well as day tour with a.o. endangered monkeys and a beautiful waterfall. Also, from the terraces you can spot a lot of peacocks and other birds in the front of the stay. He also helped me arrange a taxi a good price back. 200% worth the visit!
