The view from the terrace is wonderful. We especially enjoyed the kind, attentive staff. We took a cooking class at the accommodation one day and as well as learning how to cook a Moroccan meal, we got to learn about the local culture and experience shopping in the market. Room was nice with plenty of hot water and a heater that quickly heated the room to a comfortable temperature, we were there in February, so evenings could get a little chilly. We would gladly go back again. Very peaceful. One thing we would do next time is take advantage of some of the hiking nearby. Very authentic city but lacking nice restaurants that felt clean. In the newer area there was a great place called Le Stream. Favorite places were the music museum and mausoleum. Don't believe the online videos or guidebooks that say that the whole of Meknes is a building site! While there is a lot of renovation going on, there are still marvelous things to see and do. I didn't enjoy Meknès itself that much but I would certainly recommend visiting the partially restored Roman city ruins of Volubilis. It's about a 45 mins drive up the mountains. Keep your speed limited to 60 km/h though as there are a lot of police speed traps! It costs 70 dh to enter the grounds and around 200 dh to get a guide to show you around (mine spoke excellent English).Guest review byBastiaan AlbardaNetherlands
