Perast doesn't allow vehicle traffic except locals in the summer so it is quaint and small -very walkable- you park outside the city and then hotel staff pick you up in a golf cart to bring you in. You can easily walk it as well but it is very nice to have a pick up and drop off with your luggage coming and going. The excellent AC kept the room very nice, and it was warm outside - so tested and true. The dining terrace was literally on the water and so beautiful. All the food was delicious, really fresh fish, the breakfasts had lots of choice and everything we ate was delicious. The desserts were also really good. The view from the window was stunning. The water is clear and beautiful blue. You can take a little dive off the piers close to the hotel or walk a few hundred feet down to the public beach area that has a couple of piers and some trees for shade. There are so many wonderful ice cream shops nearby too. Maybe the crowning glory of the stay was the exceptional staff. Ancica was at reception when we first arrived and was incredibly helpful, cheerful, and had really good recommendations. Whether it was the wait staff, the reception, maintenance, cleaning, the entire staff was so kind and wonderful that we were saddest to leave them. Perast is a 20 minute drive from Kotor, but we were looking for a place to have a restful vacation away from many crowds and it was perfect. My return trip lived up to all my expectations. I had a lovely, warm welcome from Vladana, Nataša, and all the staff, which I much appreciated, and spent four blissful days enjoying the sun and the gorgeous views of the bay from under a leafy fig tree, which is my favourite spot on the small private beach. I stayed, again, in a suite with a mountain view, which I actually prefer for having my morning coffee on the balcony. The staff at The Amfora are always very helpful with arranging trips and booking taxis. For my shorter stay this year, I made one trip to Ribarsko Selo, an amazing fish restaurant and beach club which I'd spotted during a boat trip to Blue Cave last year. The Amfora is perfect for quiet beach days and as a base for explorations, locally and beyond, by boat or road. Beautiful old town, essential to take a boat trip along the bay to view the majestic mountains. The cable car is also a great activity, not only do you get a view of Kotor Bay but when you get to the top there is a lot to explore. The roads are very busy so it takes a while to get around. Essential to book a taxi before you arrive at the airport as the taxis from there are very expensive. Absolutely amazing scenery. Perast is a magical place, almost removed from time.
Perast is a magical place, almost removed from time. The situation on the waterside surrounded in all sides by mountains is breathtaking. The walk along the promenade each evening is a rare pleasure. There are plentiful good restaurants inside Perast itself as well as local oyster and mussels farms a short walk from the town, that serve delicious food. Dobrota is a short walk from the old town.

A very small peaceful place in the Kotor Bay.
A very small peaceful place in the Kotor Bay. We were there in August and there was no public events, parties, or other entertaining options. You have only few local stores, a bakery, few restaurants, and a beach to enjoy. The only road leading through Prcanj is pretty very stressful to drive it. It is very narrow and windy with blind corners and yes, count with many stops and much longer ride because of busy traffic. Good self catering apartment equipped with basic kitchen utensils for cooking. Would be helpful to have some necessities such as cooking oil, salt and pepper, which guests staying only a few nights as we did, are unlikely to purchase. Two double bedrooms and two bathrooms means the apartment would be particularly good value when shared between more than one family. Good base for exploring Boka Bay, though there are options closer to Kotor if this is your main reason for visiting. All in all we found the apartment a great base for our short trip. The pool area was lovely with sensational views. We would have liked to know that there was no cafe/ bar on site however, as the photos showed, as this was part of the reason we chose this particular apartment. During the day we ate at Tramontana Beach Bar which was lovely - a bonus was the children’s play area. We had a day out exploring Boka Bay with a private hire boat company - Taxi Boat 65. We found this to be an excellent way to make the most of our short time there and our skipper to be very knowledgeable and informative. On this day we ate at Ribarsko selo - a fish/ seafood restaurant accessed by boat. The setting was beautiful and the food wonderful. You do need to book ahead.Guest review bySamanthaSerbia - 6.0

Nice small place, great with family with children. Small beaches, nice and quiet. City center is small but has a nice park and you can find great cafe with excellent cakes. There are restaurants on the seashore that has nice food.
