- Scored out of 10, guest rating 7.4Good - What previous guests thought, 9,689 reviewsWe are surprised by all those negative comments. I spent in the Alexandra hotel 4 days ( 3 nights ) with my fiancée. We picked up the superior room with breakfast for 128 euros. We are very happy with our choice, but I want to analyze some aspects of the offer. a) Location. It is perfect. You are very close to the sea ( 3 minutes literally) bus stop that takes you directly to the airport ( 3 different lines ) and you need to go only 5/8 minutes maximum. For those to complain about the noise: It is normal for a district that is full of bars and a very touristy one. If you have a problem with sleep you can always check the area before booking and find someplace that will be quieter. It is not the fault of the hotel manager but people who can't do proper research before booking the place. b) Breakfast. It is fine. Maybe should be more warm options for vegetarians but the hotel write in the offer that they are made in ENGLISH STYLE. By this, you know what you are paying for. Also as I spoke with the staff the cost of the breakfast is 9 euros. For 9 euros the meal is 10/10. You need to include the cost of the products in what you get. There was ham, cheese, toast, tea hot unlimited, lemonade, iced tea, juices, sausages, bacon, boiled eggs scrambled eggs, fruits ( apple, oranges, kiwi) and some tomatoes, salad, and a couple of other things that I don't remember. The hotel is also working with a Sicilian restaurant 2 minutes form the lobby that offers you a 10% discount if you ask the receptionist or hotel manager. It is a very nice touch and the food there is perfect. c) The swimming pool. It is ok. What I would change is that from the floor of the swimming pool couple of tiles fell off and you can hurt your feet if you are not careful. It will be good to replace those tiles which fell off. Also I think one person from the staff should be controlling the area because sometimes some of the guests whare smoking cigarettes.Guest review bylittle_littlePoland
- From US$271.66 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.8Fabulous - What previous guests thought, 2,794 reviewsThe hospitality establishment, which is deserving of commendation, exuded a distinct air of elegance and sophistication that immediately captivated my senses. From the moment I was greeted by the impeccably attired and affable staff at the entrance, it became apparent that my stay would be nothing short of extraordinary. The check-in process was seamless and expeditious, ensuring that I was settled into my deluxe accommodations in no time. Speaking of which, the room itself was a testament to the hotel's commitment to excellence. Tastefully decorated and furnished with plush bedding and high-end amenities, every inch of the space was thoughtfully designed to cater to the needs of the discerning traveler. The dining options at the hotel were equally impressive, with a plethora of delectable dishes on offer that catered to all tastes and dietary requirements. Whether it was a sumptuous breakfast buffet or a delectable a la carte dinner, every meal was a veritable feast for the senses, served in an ambiance of refinement and sophistication. Last but certainly not least, the hotel's facilities were top-notch. The fitness center was good-equipped, and the spa offered an array of indulgent treatments that left me feeling rejuvenated and relaxed. All in all, my stay at this Dolmen Hotel Malta was an unforgettable experience. The attention to detail, the impeccable service, and the overall aura of refinement and sophistication made for a truly exceptional stay. I would highly recommend this establishment to anyone seeking an upscale and indulgent stay in a luxurious setting.Guest review byAdamSweden
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 8.0Very good - What previous guests thought, 3,185 reviewsLocation of the hotel is great, especially with the pool and private entrance to the sea where you have view onto beautiful bay. Walking distance to the restaurants in a bay or even to Paceville road... Breakfast in this hotel is one of best we tried. Rooms are spacious, with climate control, balcony, big beds. Or room was looking to back side of hotel, but you still have amazing see view, so you don't need to push for sea/pool view rooms. Pool bar and prices are ok, there is small store in the lobby which is convenient.Guest review byCro_TravelerCroatia

It is very busy in St Julians and Paceville is geared up for the youngsters. There was loads of people near the pubs and clubs in Paceville. A lot of people just barge past you and have no etiquette. Bars are mixed with some are cheap and others are expensive. Same with restaurants. You need to research the area to get the best deals on bars and restaurants. There are late night supermarkets open. Bars and restaurants open late too Spinola bay and ballutta bay are more scenic which has lovely views. Be careful when crossing the road as there are a lot of cars and there are not many pedestrian crossingsGuest review byCarolina1963United Kingdom - 10.0
The beach was clean and sunbeds with umbrellas were great.
The beach was clean and sunbeds with umbrellas were great. They even provided a separate towel to lie on. This was a small cost for the use of it all day. The bar and restaurant weren’t part of our hotel but just a stones throw, so perfect. Lots of rocks to lie on and ladders used in parts to get into the sea. St. Paul’s Bay is a pretty town with shops, restaurants, and beachside cafes, easy to get around using ferry and Uber.Guest review byAnonymous - 10.0
"Sliema was absolutely charming.
"Sliema was absolutely charming. Having previously stayed in St. Paul's Bay and St. Julian's, we found that Sliema was just a short 5-minute bus ride or a pleasant 15-minute walk between the two. Both areas offer an excellent selection of dining options and vibrant bars. Malta, as a whole, is a delightful destination and a perfect choice for a memorable vacation."Guest review byPASSIONUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Valletta has lots to offer - old buildings, churches, and beautiful coastline. There are endless places to eat - we had meals at Casa Ellul (fine dining, excellent), Rubino (robust local food, good), Legliglin (fixed menu), Kings Own Band Club (robust local food - I liked this place a lot - the food was hearty, unpretentious and fairly priced), and Noni (Michelin star, fixed menu, highly pretentious, flavours not as exquisite as the price suggests). Valletta is not an easy destination for people of reduced mobility as it is hilly. But it is a lovely town to walk around - lots of beautiful views and many viewpoints. The buses are extremely easy to use so getting around the island from Valletta is simple.Guest review bySheenaUnited Kingdom - 6.0

I like to stay in Gzira, but to travel from here to other destinations in Malta. Gzira is noisy, dusty, too much traffic. Good enough to stay to sleep and to travel/swim/visit anywhere else in Malta. Gzira = good base for trips.Guest review byPAVELCzech Republic - 10.0
Although I have been to Mellieha before and it has changed...
Although I have been to Mellieha before and it has changed enormously in the last 25 years, I think it is still one of the most charming parts of Malta. There are dozens of bars and restaurants, a fair few of which I have visited and every one was excellent. I could not fault the village in any way I would certainly recommend this as a holiday destination. Although very hilly, I believe that is part of its charm and I have stayed in other parts of Malta, all of which have their own attraction.Guest review byMcLennan - 10.0

Quiet fishing bay with more locals than tourists. Water is super clean here and safe swimming straight off the rocks. Great beach bars with tasty food and fantastic happy hours. A fabulous array of super high quality restaurants (not cheap). TalFamija and Nargile Lounge were particularly good along with Legends for cocktails.Guest review byMarkUnited Kingdom - 8.0

Msida is a great location to stay being perfectly placed to visit the busy areas of Valletta, Sliema and St Julian's. The marina is amazing with some of the best restaurants in Malta just a short distance away on foot or by Uber or Bolt. Buses run to all parts of the island from stops within walking distance of the centre. Breakfast at the Busy Bee in Msida is a must as is a visit to their ice cream parlour in the evening.Guest review byJohnUnited Kingdom - 8.0

Not your normal seaside holiday resort. The freeport as a back drop can be a bit of a shock but is soon overlooked. The Village is quaint with ample facilities, but not the place for people looking for nightlife. Lovely. Great time had by all our family.Guest review byGrahamUnited Kingdom - 6.0
