Even though it is quite a large resort, you feel very private, there are little swimming pools between every few houses. The personnel is very polite, at the same time not too humble. Food in restaurants is always delicious. We had breakfast and dinner in the beautiful restaurant Brabant. Lunch at Zest restaurant. Afternoon coffee at the pool bar. We always liked it and we like to remember these moments. We especially thank to Mr. Balmick from Brabant Restaurant and of course to Mr. Soobeeraj and of course we also thank everyone else who care of our pleasant vacation. From the soft music when entering the suite to manicured gardens- it was simply a pleasure! Mini bar prices are absolutely fair and the wlan was fast. The furniture design is well chosen and the light filled suite offers views to both sides. The Chef of the restaurant prepared an excellent lobster for us upon request (surcharge but worth it) and one can preorder a seafood platter- for future guests to know.

Lux le morne was a great experience from the moment we arrived until the day we left. First of all the location and the beach are breathtaking. We have no words to describe the hospitality and the friendly staff that was always alert to assist you. It is a person-centered resort and they make you feel like home. They are always one step ahead of you. The manager is an expert of the hospitality. All the amenities of the room (from the bath robe to the beach bag) will surprise you. Even the smell of the hotel and of the bath products is amazing. The prices of the bar were reasonably cheap. The resort's beach was the most beautiful that we visited on the whole island. We also want to thank Vishal for being there for us in anything we asked! Definitely worth visiting this amazing resort.

This was a truly amazing place! We stayed in a smaller cottage (le Percheur) which was perfect for two. The view from the terrace is beautiful.
The breakfast was brought to the cottage. We ordered dinner one day and it was waiting for us in the fridge when we got back from our day activities, just for us to heat it up.
The surroundings and the little pool are also very nice.

We absolutely loved our stay at La Mariposa. The views were beautiful with a cozy garden and location at the beach. The staff were extremely friendly and service-minded. Breakfast was rich and tasty, and dinner was also very good, offering a variety that was served right by the beach. We would definitely come back and recommend it to friends and family.

Nice beach , lots of trips available . You really need a car or book trips if your staying any length of time as nothing much else to do . No nightlife during the week only Friday and Saturday otherwise everywhere shuts at 10pm

Tu beach is just amazing, the color of the water is impressive, in the public beach you have to possibility to see the see turtles. The place is a piece of paradise.
Definitely worth to go and to spend some time there.
I would recommend an hotel next to the le Morne beach most of the hotel do not have the possibility to eat or rent the sun bed just daily.
Also I would recommend the experience of swimming with the dolphins that is offered almost everywhere.

It's a properly rustic paradise area, away from the more fabricated hotel resorts. Lots of locals who know one another and it feels safe, if a little rough around the edges. It has its own cultural and geographical charm that seems to differentiate it from other parts of Mauritius.
Lots of places to eat, a good supermarket - seems expensive for the area, but I think this is quite common.
Good offers of boat hire to get over to Ile aux Benitiers, which is well worth it. Close proximity to the lovely Morne peninsular and Black River Gorges National Park and surrounds.

Riviere Noire is a beautiful area, with good supermarkets and restaurants although some can be very expensive. La Bonne Chute Restaurant is to be avoided at all costs. Any complaint to the manager is just discarded as she was the owner. The local beach, La Preneuse, is very near, with beautiful white sand.

this is amazing place, the view is breathtaking, the chalet is spacious, very calm, the food is satisfying and the staff is very supportive and helping.
it is ideal for a short stay as if you would like to do more tours the location is bit far from everything and very challenging to reach. the best is to stay there and visit the nearby places around Chamarel.

Albion is a Mauritian village , located on the West Coast off the beaten track & away from the tourist holiday hot spots.
There is a local palm shaded beach with toilets & changing facilities, to enjoy safe swimming & magnificent sunsets.
Food & other supplies are available at the local Albion Mall Dodo Supermarket
Living with the local Mauritians enhanced our holiday experience as we got the know some of these friendly and gentle people.
You will need a hire car and Google Maps to get around

Lovely resort. Great beach. Gets very crowded at weekends. The beach is not quite as good as some of the beaches in the north, but it is still beautiful.
Quite upseting to see the amount of litter left on the beach and traffic around the resort was sometimes an issue. But the location is great and the western sunsets are stunning!
Our favourire restaurant was Mosaic, serving typical Mauritian food alongside a standard menu with burgers, pizzas and pasta with friendly service from Daniel and team.
Casela Safari Park nearby is a good day out, and a day trip to the east to visit Iles aux Cerfs was a highlight of our stay.

La Gaulette does not have a beach and the sea there is ugly.
La Gaulette does not have a beach and the sea there is ugly. Le Morne (which is very close) is the only place nearby with a nice beach, but it is widely occupied by luxury hotels. another problem with La Gaulette is that it is not usable as a base for visiting Mauritius, becasue is far away from all main attractions except 7 color earth and Black River falls.
