The Borneo Cultures Museum is worth the trip in itself, but in addition there is fabulous food, great festivals, temples, lots of history (the Rajah Brookes), good wildlife, and wonderfully hospitable people. Shopping for locally made curios is worthwhile here. Combination of classic/old town and modern living. The best thing in Sibu for me is the variety of food that you can have with cheap price! Of course my favorite is the Kampua Mee. Bintulu town is a great place to visit. Been to the local beach in the evening after the visit to the Tumbina park. Few good malls we visited n did a bit shopping. Nice restaurants around town n not difficult to find them while driving around. Our visit to Santubong was a peaceful escape into nature’s beauty. Surrounded by lush green hills and set against the South China Sea, the area offers breathtaking views—especially during sunset at Damai Beach. The calm waves, golden skies, and majestic silhouette of Mount Santubong made it a perfect spot for reflection and photography. While we enjoyed the stunning scenery and relaxing atmosphere, some parts of the beach and resort surroundings could benefit from better maintenance to preserve the natural charm. Small fishing village. the beach at Roxy Beach Hotel (Canopy and Villa) was beautiful. But there is a sign warning people to swim at your own risk (because of jelly fish). Kuching is clean, beautiful, hip and the people are genuinely kind and gracious by nature, from hotel staff, taxi drivers, patrons, and people on the street. For me, it combines the the cleanliness and efficiency of Singapore and a river walk of Melaka (but larger and cleaner) and a hip, artsy vibe like Ipoh and it is within a hour from incredible nature.
