We were very supported by Zubaida and Jorge, enjoying the great drinks of Mr. Boaventura, and a nice day at Bazaruto with the sailors, Cremildo and Arnaldo. The bedding are special spetacular. Casacabana was a wonderful ten day stay for us (my wife and I). Bobo and the rest of the wonderful staff were amazing and like a family to us. We were in a bungalow right off the beach and enjoyed the soothing nature of the weather, beach and constant ocean tides. For breakfast and dinner we only went to the attached Casbah Restaurant as the food prepared by the kind chefs was first rate. Our housekeeping was thorough and left us with everything we needed. Everyone here was so good to us and we will always cherish the memories.

Upon arrival at the airport there was someone waiting for us to bring to the villa.
Although there had just been a cyclone (and the property was also hit by this violence of nature) we were compensated above expectations.
Great management of the Bahia Mar family and people that will stay in the apartment I would definitely recommend multiple massages at the SPA (they are the best!)

The resort was lovely. Priscilla and Kirsty were super helpful and friendly, as were all the staff. The gardens were beautiful and the Casas well appointed, spacious and comfortable. The food was also very good. For trips to the islands, we used Sunset Dhow and Wild Africa. Not to be missed is a horseride on the beach with Mozambique Horse Safaris - really outstanding

South of the Dona Ana hotel, a large hotel on a peninsular,...
South of the Dona Ana hotel, a large hotel on a peninsular, is a 5km stretch of wondeful beach. White soft sand at high tide, 200 metres of golden sand when the tide is out. Not the best for swimming ut there are some comfortable small pools as the tide goes out. No sunbeds and umbrellas here, just local fishermen going about their business. A couple of small low key nice hotels offering beach front accommodaion and food.
North of the Dona Ana the beach is less tidal, several larger more modern hotels with very nice restaurants. but the beach is not as pretty with seaweed sometimes and broken shells meaning walk with sandals not barefoot.

Typical of Mozambique.
Typical of Mozambique. It's a poor area so if you are prepared for rural surrounds you will not be disappointed. Locals are friendly and the lodge took us shopping for provisions as and when we needed it. Great place to relax. Super diving, snokelling, fishing and swimming. Very close to the islands.

Definitely recommend. It's a beautiful place. Vilanculos is very laid back, natural and authentic. The beaches are amazing, delicious local food and some great outdoor activities to do. Visiting the islands like Bazaruto is highly recommended. These areas are truly pristine and the snorkeling along two mile reef is awesome. I would say more or less 6 days is enough time in the area. We went in September (not in season) and sometimes it would just be us on the beach with one or two other people.
