Our stay at Nusfjord Village Resorts transformed into a magical Lofoten odyssey beyond imagination. The charming fishing cabin became our perfect sanctuary - its rustic yet cozy interior design truly transported us back in time, letting us experience authentic fisherman's life with modern comforts. Waking up to breathtaking sunrise hues painting the fjord, then falling asleep under dancing Northern Lights through our cabin windows created moments forever etched in our memories. The property's serene atmosphere provided ultimate relaxation, while Karoline Restaurant elevated our culinary journey with exceptional Arctic flavors. Their breakfast spread with freshly baked bread became our daily ritual, and dinner's creative interpretation of local seafood left us speechless - particularly the signature cod dish that still lingers in our taste buds. What truly set this experience apart was the genuine warmth of staff members who remembered our names and shared fascinating local stories. Their thoughtful recommendations for hidden hiking trails led us to discover secluded beaches with starfish-covered shores. This unique blend of cultural immersion, natural wonders, and five-star hospitality exceeded all expectations. We departed not just as satisfied guests, but as temporary members of this historic fishing community. Nusfjord Village has rewritten our definition of a perfect Nordic getaway!

Splendid hotel that we chose being centered in our Lofoten tour. We reached the marina where the hotel is located and found the rorbue and the "hotel" itself just nearby. Quick and kind check-in and we were guided to the rooms... the first 2 minutes walking up the internal stairs, I believe we were wanting to leave immediately... then we reached the 1st floor and i saw the family faces change to a positive surprise, which became even more positive when we entered the rooms. I have no difficulty in stating that these were the best rooms in all our travel. Size wise, really large and spacious. furniture and style SUPER! From wooden floors made with ship recycled wood to the color of the walls all the way to the accessories, all is studied to combine modern look and connection to the ships and rorbuers. Beautiful indeed. Bathroom is very large ours included the bathtub, sons' had 2 large showers. Towels were provided on both days. We also took advantage of the dinner on one evening. Try and you will understand why their restaurant is fully booked! quality and level of cooking are at superior level... and being "picky Italians" this is a big compliment outside our nation.

One of my most favorite accommodations that I've ever stayed in ANYWHERE.. Absolutely gobsmackingly charming residence situated off of a breathtaking powder sand surfing beach surrounded by dramatic craggy peaks .. Loved everything about this house as far as layout, decor and style go and you can tell that it is dearly loved not just by its owners but by every single guest that crosses the threshold! .. Light, bright and cheery with loads of natural light and views to die for .. Includes a lovely wood burning sauna and multi person hot tub on the beach view deck.. Just a short wonderful walk through soft green fragrant grass to a private gate that leads you straight to the beach.. Couldn't ask for better and thankfully we had the foresight to purchase their world class cinnamon rolls at the cafe/reception so that we had them to wake up to the next morning :) ... Being able to rent surfboards and wetsuits right from reception was incredibly convenient and we had the most magical time here.. We are so grateful to have found a tiny window of opportunity to book and are desperate to return in the future !

Good and clean cabin. The kitchenette was really nice, cute and practical. The seating and beds were comfortable. We would definitely come back here again. The cabin was also prepared with really nice scented and moisturising hand wash, which I ended up purchasing myself later. The owner was nice and recieving on the night we arrived too. 😊

Ballstad is a pituresque fishing village surronded by mountains. It's located right in the center of Lofoten which makes it a great base for those we want to explore the archipelago. Buksnes church is charming and a must see. Also it's near to Leknes where you can find a lot of stores and supermarkets. Ballstad will have a special place in our hearts as it was where we saw the most fantastic Aurora show which we were expecting for so long.

Such an incredible place!

Such an incredible place! I visited in off season and two out of three days had good enough weather to explore. The third day had the most intense wind I have experienced, so it wasn’t safe to explore. I was happy with this experience but depending on what you want you may want to visit in summer, so that the trails aren’t so muddy. Even when they are, there is plenty of scenic routes to walk in between the towns!
