Everything. Beautiful quaint charm, lovely designed lodge, peaceful location, incredible service and hospitality. The onsite chef is devine and the nicest person. The spa massage was one of the best I’ve had. The owner shared about his culture, family, special meaning of the property and even tribal wine. All in all if I could give this property a 20 out of 10 I would!

We visited Taupo for the Lake Taupo Cycle Challenge. Our first time in Taupo and did not have enough time to visit all the beautiful places in and around Taupo. However, cycling around the lake gave us a great view of the place and it definitely worthwhile for anyone who loves nature. Everyone we met was friendly and helpful when we needed so directions. The lake and the riverside walks are great places to spend time, and the Botanic Gardens and Hamilton Zoo are perfect for family day trips. Lots of shopping options if you are that way inclined. Convenient to other scenic spots around the Waikato region such as Hobbiton, Lake Kainui, Pirongia, and many more.

Close to Tongariro National Park and a short drive to Taupo. Beautiful scenery on the drive from Hamilton down the west side of Lake Taupo. Turangi itself was larger than we thought with all the amenities we needed. Great grocery store (New World) and good gas prices.

Great cafes, really friendly community. Great selection of shops so if you needed something you could get it there. Saturday market for fresh produce was great. Lots of activities from fishing and beaches to walks, found a great museum.

The relaxed friendly atmosphere in the town and also the golf club. We enjoyed a fun night in the Raglan Club and sort of gate crashed the bowls Xmas party! A great band was playing. Loved Tony Sly shop and pottery shop in the old dairy factory. Whale Bay was incredible!

Our tour of the Ruakura cave was great. Our tour guide held the kids' attention the entire way and answered all of their questions. The caves are amazing to see and this walking tour is just the right length, even for young kids. Don't forget to book ahead and take a warm top as it is quite chilly down there.

The main point of our trip was to visit Hobbiton Movie Set. This is an amazing experience, our second trip. Have done both the lunch & dinner experience. Food, staff & experience rate a 10. Had a great meal at Sofra, food & staff were great. Breakfast at The Rich Coffee Cafe was nice and the staff were ok. Visited the I-Centre too and found the staff to be helpful.

We loved it.

We loved it. The grandkids loved the playground by the mall area. We had a great time at the Goldmine experience and fully recommend this as they were very informative and something different to see. Everything was close by with ample parking which made it easier to get around. Wea made our meals although meal delivery is possible. The ocean is also close. Would love to come back to Thames at some point
