The beautifully restored historical house with museum located next to the old castle near a wonderful beach in Taqah was our favourite hotel and area during our 2 week travels throughout Oman. The staff were highly competent and great hosts. Service and breakfast were excellent. 10 from 10 points.

This hotel is highly recommend for the quality/price offered. .The room was large and comfortable. The staff and the receptionist extremely friendly. Especially Tariq who helped me navigate the area with good detailed plans to make my visit in the Dhofar region very pleasantHe also allowed a late check out.The breakfast and meals were plentiful and varied.The Chef Mufsi and Saif tried to make everything work well and even provided me with deluxe service and meals .This hotel has also a relaxing swimming pool and what was to be a stay of one night ended in 3 night stay! Thank you all for a wonderful stay. A perfect stay for knowing all the region.

I spent 3 nights in this hotel. I travel a lot and have rarely encountered a hotel of such quality. The room with balcony and view of the marina is very large, with plenty of storage space. Restaurant: the buffet dinner at the Al Manara restaurant is very good and varied every evening. Very good breakfast too. IMPORTANT NOTE: I had a problem with my return flight and THE RECEPTION STAFF WERE FANSTASTIC, RASHA IS SO VERY KING AND LISTENING, AS WELL AS HER TWO COLLEGUES (sorry, I can't remember their names, but they wear the kouma), AND THE MANAGER. I therefore recommend this hotel 100%.

The location was incredible: such breathtaking views at the top of Jebel Samhan! The service was fantastic, the guys took care of everything. The breakfast was nice and big, the rooms facing the mountain cliff had everything you needed. Beware: this hotel does not have wi-fi :) great way to disconnect

This is definitely a paradise on earth. Please ignore all negative comments, Souly Lodge is simply gorgeous and perfect for anyone looking for peace, relaxation and recreation. The bungalows are lovingly furnished with everything you need: Kettle, small fridge, sitting area inside and outside on the terrace and the highlight of course the outdoor shower. We have never been able to relax like we did here in any other place in the world. You get up in the morning and look directly at the sea, everything is very clean and well maintained. The flamingos walk along the beach and you can also watch the dolphins. Where else can you find this untouched nature? But best of all are the staff. We are still overwhelmed by the loving and helpful nature of each and every one. The kind and extremely competent gentleman at the reception, the service staff (especially Nizan and Abul), the loving Mrs. Pascale in the souvenir shop - they made our stay, which we extended immediately, a very special experience. And of course the food was also very good!! Thank you from the bottom of our hearts, please keep up the good work! We hope to see you again soon :)

The breakfast was very decent. They kept changing the menu every day so we didn't had to eat same stuff every day. We had an executive suite with 2 rooms so the room was decent size with nice and comfy beds. Staff was friendly and the hotel was decently cleaned. We got something like a separate small villa with our own terrace and it was really nice! The room itself was spacious and cozy, had everything required - bed, desk, fridge, chairs; bathroom had all amenities including toiletries and towels. From the terrace once could go to the hotel pool or to the beach.

the beaches are spectacular, the location is really perfect...

the beaches are spectacular, the location is really perfect if you look for a quite and familiar place. Everyone is friendly and helpful. the surrundings are stunning and the trip is aboslutely worth it. There are several resorts in the area but they are very decent and not invasive.

Salalah and especially the surrounding mountains contain a unique environment with magical natural views. But, if you want to see the lush green landscapes and waterfalls, make sure to come in the correct monsoon season known as khareef, which is during the summer months. Once the rains stop, the waterfalls dry up and the lush greenery turns dry and yellow. I came in November, which is a perfect time for nature photography as there is no rain to damage the camera and nature is still very alive, but all waterfalls had already completely dried up and the lush greenery was gone. The region, like the entire country, is very safe, with friendly and helpful people.

I liked almost everything, it’s not overcrowded like other destinations in the Middle East. Loved the Geography, dramatic coast line, mountains, beautiful beaches, lush green areas in East and of course the desert. Would be a great area to hire a motor home to explore, think the region lends itself to this, I believe this would attract tourists! Maybe a weekly flight direct from London with Oman Air but at the same time would hate the country to be spoilt by tourism.
